I recently had the seats in my '47 done which were mostly just springs. Our buddy who does the upholstery found a living mouse hanging out in the front seat. He proceded to slap it against the wall and throw it in the street. I was bummed and would have saved the mouse if I saw it sooner, but in Tijuana they see them as pests that should be killed. That little dude rode all the way from PA only to meet his demise in the streets of TJ. Kinda sad man:(

I got in the back seat of a 64 (it was a 2 door and makes the story a little better) Impala one time out in the woods and there was a bobcat (not a couger) he jumped out he passenger window.I also found $350 under the drivers seat in a early 60's Ford van rolled up with a very rusted paper clip (rusted right through the money. It must have ben there for years.

Only thing I ever found in old cars I've bought was a hole to throw money in

  4. ....I found the original, well previous, owner of my 66 Charger working at a muffler shop in chicago.

Just put in a new 42 piece rug kit to finish out the interior the week before...the charger had four buckets, long console to the back that folded down underneath a large flat fast back-esque window.

He proceeds to reflect on how he used to get a ton of ass in that car and how he used to shack up with his "old lady" underneath the stars and that great fold down back seat under the stars!

Yep, I reflected on the time I spent sweating inside this POS ripping out the interior and looking out that same window...I puked a bit in my mouth.

From then on I really never spent too much time in the back of the old charger...not even to clean the windows. I found some weird shit when gutting this thing and story hit too close to home. It was tough to even look in the rear view after something like that happens to you. God forbid I should see the ghost of Joe Dirty's past in action.

So what did I find in my car? Good times...

Never really found anything good in a car short of a few dollars in change, but I did find a pair of spooged on panties balled up in some ancient wrapping paper in my attic. Never washed my hands quite that many times until then! Pretty sure I don't want to know the story behind them.

I had a corvette come in the shop hit very hard on the passenger's side and it exploded the lady's CASE of vaginal sponges! She heard they were taking them off the market and had them in the floorboard of her vette when she got t-boned. Way gross and way sticky. Also found 900$ bucks once in a quarter panel too. The customer gave me 60$ finders fee. Funny stuff.

  8. Found a 1957 penny in my last VW Bus that was also a 57. Makes me wonder did the origanal owner drop it? I put it back under the seat where I found it.

When my mom past away I managed to get her '67 Ford Galaxie she had stored in the old barn. Well time came to clean it up and I removed the rear seat and tossed a 'Mouse' nest.........then I noticed little green bits of paper. I dug the nest out of the garbage and found the remains of 2 $100.00 bills. I could only find the complete serial number to 1 of the bills which the bank redeemed. Thanks Mom:) for still being there!

I've found tools in many of my old cars, and they all hold a special place in my toolbox. The wierdest was a spark plug socket in my Mustang II that was too small to fit the SBF's plugs.

After I christened my MGB Charlotte, I tore out the carpet and found a note from the previous owner that was typewritten saying he had parts for the car. The phone number was no longer in service when I called. There was sand all over the place under the carpet, as well as a few tiny seashells. The note said that this old owner hailed from Charlotte, NC. I also found money, and two dead mice. One was in the trunk and the other was inside the front fender, which I discovered about six months after I bought the car.

I worked at a used car lot that also rented cars when I got out of high school and I was cleaning out one of the returns and found a stun gun, an empty clip and a box of .22 shells that had mace in the loads. Had never heard of or seen those again, must have been something that broke open on impact or the user of the gun would be maced also. Gave everything to my boss like a dope and never did find out if he came and got his stuff or not.

Sorry, no guns, ninja swords, trophy skulls, or cash.

A ton of GM A-body interior parts, warranty materials, and dealer brochures came with my '69 Cutlass but it was only a 15 year old car then. There was a joint and a few roaches in the ashtray of a VW I bought as a kid. Had some 'splaining to do when mom borrowed it and found the seller's stash. Between the half dozen or so Jeeps I've bought I've probably got enough parts to nearly put another one together.

My M-715 army truck had a live 300 Win shell and a 12-gauge slug rigged in some sort of booby trap with spring-loaded firing pins under the battery box (it's between the front seats). Thankfully the shells fell out before I bought it so I only heard a slight click when I opened the box and not a big boom. There were also hundreds of contractors tools in the bed along with a 20-ton PTO winch from a 5-ton 6x6 army truck.

Had a dead rabbit and some other gristle in a '53 Willys and one of my old F-250s came with a 30-year old 1/2-inch Snap-On breaker bar. A '60s Jeep pickup came with a bunch of Star Wars cup toppers from Taco Bell and a cool unopened steel can of 30W motor oil. And my '51 Caddy ambulance had some government Navy paperwork dated from '58. It was really yellowed and hard to read. Mostly work order stuff related to motor pool personell as best as I could tell.

Wow - that looks like one of those red, blue, and clear Craftsman screwdrivers that Dad used to mix paint with when I was a kid...

Stories like this are why this is the best thread, ever! :)

  30. While disassembling an original 31 Pontiac coupe, I found a piece of wire with 6 or 7 keys tied to it inside of a kick panel beneath a reinforcement. These were in a place that could only have been reached when the car was being assembled so they had to have been placed there at the factory. They were tarnished but completely unused (no wear). They were the correct type for the ignition/locks of the car but did not fit this car. Musta been several 31 Pontiacs leave the factory missing keys!
