I recently bought a full custom 53 F-100 that was stashed away inside an enclosed ramptruck out in the woods for 15 years. Unfortunately the mice got in and made a nest under the seat. Luckily they didn't chew on anything, they just pissed all over so even after pulling the carpet, setting it outside in direct sun for a week and washing it with everything from, urine enzime killer, dish soap, laundry detergent, carpet cleaner and just about anything else that won't stain it it still stinks. The rest of the interior still stinks as well even after a very thorough cleaning. The piss smell just permeated the whole thing. My buddy offered his ozone machine to use but I have read that some people had issues with plastic and vinyl deteriorating after useing an ozone machine. The truck has custom vinyl interior (complete headliner and a few other parts). Do you think this will be an issue?
I’d be removing the headliner to make sure there’s not a nest up there as well, might as well check the doors while you’re at it , little *******s can get into places you wouldn’t believe possible. While you have the liner and door cards out you could have a go with the ozone or just leave the doors open for a week or so
I have an ozone generator, have used it on 2 cars. Have not seen any damage or evidence of deterioration. It's certsinly worth a try, but you do have a real problem there. I had a VW Bug with the same deal, we tore out every s***ch of upholstery in the car and tried everything. The bare shell still stunk! Good luck.
That’s a gorgeous truck and as much as I hate to say or see this happen you’re going to probably have to toss the interior out and start over. Hanna virus is just not worth it.
