Alright, so we have a 64 ford falcon with a stock drive train. The only thing i've done is switch from generator to alternator. When the engine comes up to operating temperature and the vehicle comes to a stop in drive (automatic transmission) it begins to shutter violently. It doesn't happen all the time, it is an intermittant problem. The weather in east san diego has become very warm and this is the first summer we have had the car. Any ideas? All fluid levels are good, transmission shifts fine at all speeds. Problem is only at idle in drive at a stop. If u switch from drive to neutral problem goes away. I don't know where to start. Need some advice. Thanks

start with a tune-up, including checking the distributor for proper operation and setting idle mixture and speed. and check the motor mounts and trans mount, they have a funky trans mount on them iirc
