http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYMH3KrspHo Red Stanley is a drag racer from Ringgold, Georgia, who was a friend and employee of the Southeastern racing legend, Robert Nance. Stanley ran in the shadow of the factory sponcered Nance most of his career, running mostly hand-me-down cars and parts from Robert Nance. This past Winter, I was contacted by Al Casteen, a Virginia native who recently purchased an old race car that used to belong to Red Stanley. Al had done a lot of research and had come up with information about the car, including the fact that it had at least nine previous owners, most of them in the Chattanooga, Tennessee and N. Georgia area. Mr. Casteen got in touch with as many of the previous owners that he could find and set up a get together this past April, in Ringgold, Georgia, so that anyone interested could see the car and reminisce about the old times. I took my video camera and tried to get as much as I could of Red Stanley talking about his experiences in drag racing. It was a windy day and the wind noise interfered with hearing his voice a few time but most of the time, he can be heard plainly. Thanks to present owner of the old car, Al Casteen, for making this all posible. Enjoy!!! Wayne Holland.
