New to this group. Car is a '53 Ford Victoria mild custom. Enjoyed seeing the '52-'56 Fords at the Roundup plus all the other great car and attendees. I started on my car about 1-1/2 years ago. I don't know how to post pictures, but if I find out I'll post some. There is a picture of my '53 shown in the post showing the Fords at the Lone Star Roundup. It is the satin black one with red and black interior with a '54 Ford dash and a Desoto grill. Bill, Spring, TX
Welcome to the group, Bill. It was a pleasure taking the photos of your car. I especially like the bright red and black interior. The whole effect is very authentic to the way these cars were built in the old days...except nicer!
Welcome!!! This group is the best! Tons of talent here with lots of great ideas to share with everyone. Oh.... by the way.... sweet ride!

Welcome from Wisconsin. Love the pics of your car! That is exactly what I want my trunk to look like. I don't suppose there's a kit?
Welcome - love the car!!! I too have trunk envy... Need to trim mine out like this also - After I get it on the road.
To: missydad1, genosslk, 52plymouth, daddy o's diner, & K.S.K. Thanks so much for the comments on the car. I have, like most of you, built a number of cars over the years. The one before the '53 Ford was a radically customized '53 Studebaker, hence my user name "baker53". The following address is for my web page that shows some of the cars I have built or restored over the years. You will have to scroll down the web page past the radios and the machine shop pictures to get to the cars. I told myself that the Studebaker was going to be my last construction project, but I was talked into the '53 Ford. http://sites.google.com/site/w5sgbill/ To skoh73: the shaved trunk and solenoid opener was very straight forward. Just a few sheet metal slugs welded into the various holes and the opening solenoid was mounted close to the latch on the underside of the trunk lid. I also added a pull cable that routes into the car in case the solenoid opener should ever fail. There are lots of great solenoids kits available, but I just used small Bosch starter solenoids. I used the same type of solenoids for the doors. The upholstery was done by Advanced Auto Trim in Houston and they were very good and the finer details.
Hi am Magoozi , thank you for inviting me to your social group,I own all kinds of fords, the oldest being a 1916 model T center door and the newest a 1952 vicky that was customized in the late fifties. Over the years I have owned a 54 skyliner, a 54 convertible, and a 54 sunvalley. As with all of us ,when you have a family to support, you end up having to sell your cars when times get hard. fortunatly it looks like I will be able to keep this car. I was really stoked to see the enthusiaism you guys showed when I posted the thread on my car. Your replies are of great wealth to me, and I am shure I will keep bugging you guys with my questions. My forte is model A's and early v-8 fords, and if I can return the favor and answer any questions aboat those cars , i will be more than happy to do so. I am in the Lifters car club , and another fellow member has a chopped 54 mainline sedan. I'll make shure I tell him aboat your group. Thanks again for inviting me, Miguel.
