I've been reading this board for a while and really learned a thing or two. I'm a big fan of the internet, specifically boards like this that have taught me how to do it myself and taken away mostly all the fear of diving into mechanical projects previously thought to be out of my league. I joined HAMB a few weeks ago after serious consideration of a 53 chevy purchase that I ultimatly ended up not buying due to distance from home. I come from mostly a M/C background. I have had a few Harleys, currently a late model slammed/aped FLHRCI. I actively race my KTM 520 (big bore kitted to 540) in the Florida FTR hare scrambles series, and motcross my Yamaha YZF. I retired roadracing my GSXR750 after a bad get off at Moroso in 2001, sold the bike to pay off the new shoulder. I do all my own work on the bikes and when the timing is right wrenching is like seeing a shrink for me, therapy. My interests have leaned towards hotrods lately. With bikes I have always preferred the old school chops, Brit and American Hardtail no fender, no bullshit kind of style. I walk past billet to admire rusty steel and wish illness on Arlen Ness and his types. A friend of mine is a very talented car builder. Over the last two years I have sat in on suspension fabs, A/C installs, windows, body installs, and engine refits on a 48 Pontiac, 62 Impala, 41 Willys clone, and messed around with a glass deuce black primer/red wheeled dream car. So thats my background. Intro complete. I'm looking for a project around $4-6K, (lust like the rest of HAMBers I suppose), prefer a driver, needs to be an oddball, no 68 Camaros going in my garage any time soon. I like the early 50's cars, 1960 2 doors, and obviously anthing pre 40. Got any projects unfinished in the SE USA that you wanna sell drop me a line, $$ is burning a hole in my pocket. I just put a link to a 39 Chevy I found for sale in the classified section with pics, not mine, just had to pass due to the state of disrepair. Cool car, check it out. I know the bike is Jap, but at least it's primer! The other is me and Billy Lane drinking numerous beers.

welcome aboard, I'm new as well. That 53 wouldn't happen to be the chop from boston that I was trying to get as well? I have some bike history in my family as well. My little brother raced motorcross..his dad (I'm adopted) raced harleys. Got some buddies that are into stunting now....trying to drag me into it. www.btbriders.com. I'd kill myself. that's one big cornfed dude in that picture of you man...haaa. (edit...went A.D.D. and didn't read that was billy...didn't realize he was so cornfed) Anyways. Welcome aboard. I'm lovin learning on the hamb myself.
I agree whole heartedly. My Roadking is NOT a chopper, it's a big ole pig as a matter of fact, but I ride the shit out of it and it is PLUSH. If it matters I at least fabbed the lowering blocks (not easy on a leather bag Roadking) from scrap steel and cut the rails off the rear fender with a sawzall. It isnt just a complete bolt on bike.
Almost exactly 30 minutes into the movie is one of the best quckie bush shots in history. Rollergirl, I want you to come and sit next to Eddie. Are we gonna fuck? Oh, yes.
