i figured i would finally give an intro.

i know i will get flamed for this but i am a vw fan. i have actually been checking out the hamb for a while trying to suck up the mass of technical info that flows here. you are an intelligent bunch

for the most part, my name is scott, i am 30, i live in arizona, i have always been a car nut from the time i was a little one. my pops made me the way i am. he is a car nut, his transfer to iraq forced the sale of his 38 ford.

i remember sittin in my grandmothers attic reading hot rod mags when i was a little one.

i am an electronics geek for the 9-5 and dabble in webdesign on the side. i actually have just started working on a site for doug jerger over a squeegs.

anyway, i figured i have lurked enough and should give an intro, thanks for all the info in the past, i have used it numerous times.

one day soon, i will graduate to "real" cars. someday soon, i have really been feeling the itch.

i will go back to lurking fellas, again, thanks for the usefull info i have gained.

Don't feel bad.. I've had a couple VWs myself. Currently we've got a TDI Beetle (50 mpg)... If the USA would pull it's head out of its ass and give us other diesel cars to choose from, I probably woudln't have a dub though...

Love the engine, hate the electrical engineering :)

Welcome. One of my buddies (and heroes) is a guy we'll just call "Lil Axle" here, a hardcore deuce guy, and he's told me numerous times that he feels the VW bug is "the other" '32 Ford - a cheap, light, simple platform to build on : "the peoples car"...I'll agree with that (let the flaming begin). If you cut your teeth there, this should be a pretty natural transition for you, right? '32 Fords just cost a little more, that's all...I have a brother who's had some '32 Fords, and one who's had some VWs, and they both had equal amounts of fun...If you know how to have fun, you'll be fine here...

  14. Welcome,,,,,,Your right ,,,,,You could very well get flamed,,,,The VW is not a welcome subject and brings heated debate,,,,,,,although a few HAMBers actually own them its kinda of a dirty little secret!

Sorry to hear your dad had to sell his car,,,HRP
