long time lurker, first time poster. I've finally have a project to talk about.
I have a ’34 ford pickup. it's just a cab (no doors, no firewall, no dash, no seat) and a bed. This is my first rod project, so i'll have a lot of questions. hope you all will be able to help me out with some answers.

Hey swill, welcome to the HAMB.

Did you say it WAS a pickup or you brought it HOME in a pickup?

Think about it this way, having only four major parts of this ride will allow you to spend your time making those parts really bad ass. LOL

Just kiddin' ya bro, welcome and we all look forward to hearing about your progress.

  10. "WOW" you actualy have a body....!

If that body was from Wisconsin..., everything from the door handles down would be gone!! [IMG]

No shit there are guys on this board that started with a piece of roof they found in a field!!! And now they're driving it around!!! [IMG]

Should be able to find enough parts here to put it together!!!! [IMG]

    Welcome

  11. Swill 67.....I also started with a body [33 ford pickup] and frame..[34 ford pickup] and bought a pickup box at the local swap meet [26 Ford model T] .
I scored a complete 41 ford pickup rolling and running chassis for the engine, pedals and some little shit. Carkiller gave me a 32 pickup grille shell off his shop wall and I hit the swap meets again for a pair of model A front wishbones, a 46 ford pickup rear axle with 40 ford axle housings and I split the bones...used Speedway bungs and tie rod ends for all the wishbones...shortened a 50 ford dash and drove to Des Moines to meet with Corncobcoupe and score his 39 ford steerijng box and column. Fab'd a mount for it and bought a co-worker's 93 S-10 chevy pickup to get the T-5 tranny. I bought heavily at speedway again and came away with an Offy tranny adapter to bolt the T-5 to the old flathead. Also bought a 4" dropped Magnum "narrow" axle and bolted on 40 ford front brakes and 35 ford wheels, all bought at the local swap meets..I chopped the top 5.5" in my garage and found an old smelly van 3rd seat next to the dumpster at work. I chopped the windshield frame and back glass frame and had the local glass shop fill the frame with glass. VIOLA! I had a hot rod! Mine was certainly NOT a nice truck but it was a blast to drive. The photo is of me driving it in the Kansas City Speed and Power Meet with our own T-man riding shotgun. The photo was taken by Ryan's wifey, Marci, out the window of Ryan's 38 ford. He was having a bitch of a time trying to keep up with us.
Keep on this project, man. YOu'll get frustrated sometimes when shit goes wrong but we all go through that before we go ridin! Behold, the old Rocky 33 at full song.

thanks for the encourgement! your truck looks like what i want to to do.
I have a 37 rear wishbones and rear suspension and a 8inch ford rear end lined up. my dad may have a front end i can use. I need to find a frame to start putting it all on. I plan on taking a welding class at the junior college here, in august. but before i can really do anything i need to make working (and storing room) in the garage by getting some other cars ('67 mustang and '71 bronco) going.
