    Hey guys!

Just picked up a 54 customline this morning. I posted on the main board about it. here's a link to the thread

Its a driver. Has some rust in the rockers but other than that its about as solid as they get in illinois!

I think it's got 3 inch blocks in the rear and the cut springs up front. The straight 6 has been rebuilt and has a cool 3 carb set up and i believe it's bored .60 over but i'll have to double check.

im sure i'll be doing a lot of lurking and asking a lot of questions in here.

i think thats about good for an intro.

    thanks!

Good looking customline, welcome to the group. If you are looking to replace the suspension but keep the same ride height let me know, I just did mine.

Welcome! That's a pretty nice '54 the way it is. I hope you don't change it to any great degree - other than wheels and tires, that is, and perhaps a little "shiny" where the paint goes. The triple carb setup looks well done as do the headers. If the rest of the exhaust is as well done, leave it alone. Congratulations!

Welcome, Nice 54 you have a great starting point. Here's my .02 cent on your question. I would keep the thin white walls and just add some chrome smoothie's or some lancer or 57 cad sombrero hub caps. Add some spot lights, lake pipes drop the back of car two or three inches. Down the road shave the dr handles and some shiny paint. I'd keep the 223 and if the car doesn't have them already, add some dual pipes. Nothing sounds sweeter than a six with straight pipes. That's how we roll in NorCal. At the end of the day it's your ride ,do what makes you happy.

Welcome, nice car. I personally like wires. I have had them on my truck for 20 years.

    Thanks everyone!

it does have dual pipes already and they do sound pretty sweet. And the guy gave me 2 dummy spot lights that he bought but never installed. body-wise the only thing i have in mind is frenching the headlights. for sure no chop.
