Introducing: Motor Speedway NJ

im about 15 min away from e-town. no rain here yet.

 

Just got home and downloaded a few pics. Mel & the Oilers, sorry we took some of your spots, didn't know and they were the only ones left. Thanks for understanding. Was AWESOME, loved it. Here's a few pics till I get a chance to post more during the week.

Just rolled in from the NJ Motor Speedway blowout at E-town( head is still ringing ). Most fun I’ve ever had at a show. Rows of genuine hot rods, live band, cold beer, girls, and 1/8th mile drags run the way it used to be! Not much else you could ask for. The Alter Boys drove down from New England and I got to hang out with my buddy Aaron Kahan and the Choppers club who flew in all the way from beautiful downtown Burbank.
Kudos to Mel and the Oilers, it takes a tremendous amount of work to put together a deal like this and they nailed it.

 

I just got home and had a great time! I even made a pass with my yellow '47 coupe. It's the first time I've ever drag raced a car... if anyone has any pics or video of it it would be awsome! I'll post my pics first thing in the morning what a great show!!!

 

How come you went straight at the light?? Hungry?

manO'man... that was sick! Killer people, killer cars, killer bees... Ok, the bees never made it, but it was pretty damn amazing! That is the way a NJ car event should be.... thanks people, we can do it! Back at it... I'm out the door, 8am till 6pm, Gate 4

 

I had a blast at Motor Speedway. There was so many cool cars ,and people.I ran my car on the track for the first time,that was killer.Thanks Mel for a great show.

THIS WAS MY 5th TIME IT THE SPEEDWAY MOST CARS AND FUN YET, GOT IN LAST NIGHT AFTER MIDNIGHT HIT A LITTLE RAIN BUT THATS OK AT LEAST IT WAS A COOL RIDE HOME WITH NO TRAFFIC!! HAD A GREAT TIME A LOT OF NICE CARS, IT WAS WONDERFUL RACING MY 30 ROADSTER, ONE OF THE ALTER BOYS PULLED UP TO THE STARTING LINE AND WE RAN ONE OFF HIS 30 COUPE WITH A 364 AGAINST MY 30 ROADSTER WITH A 401 BOTH BUICK NAILHEADS JUST LIKE THE OLD DAYS , I WISH I HAD A PIC OR VIDEO OF THAT , I BET IT LOOK BAD ASS FROM THE SIDE LINE, LOTS OF FUN, AND GOOD PEOPLE, ENJOY THE PICS ,JACK --THANKS MEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Thats a cool shot, never thought to take one from the stands. Still can't get everyone in there though. GREAT turnout it was!

 

Unbelievable turnout. I told my friend coming late to bring his bike as the fence was moved twice and there was no room for another car. Sorry I'm missing it today but I'll see you guys again on the 1st.

If you are in NJ/eastern NY/eastern PA there is NO reason not to be here. Spread the word.

 

Is it on for August 1st ? I hope it is!!

 

Fantastic show and my 6 year old son asked "Dad when are they doing this again?" and he loved the Nebulas.

Took some pics and I'll need to resize them before I post them.

Gonna try and head back todya for a few hours, didn't get enough of a fix yesterday.

 

man that was one great time last night. awesome cars,band,people and hamburgers. last night was pure hotroding at its best

 

The pit/parking pictue looks like it could have been taken 40 years ago. How cool is that?

 

Thanks to Mel and The Oilers. Took my daughter with me this time. WE had a blast. Some sic cars and The Nebulas were off the hook. Just goes to show that this does work Mel !!! See ya on Aug 1st

 

Just sent MEL a bunch off old -timey DOVER goodies to hang on his walls...some of the Dover Crew said they attended last night ...had a great time and are running at the Funnycar reunion today....they'll be checking in at "barn" for a pitstop !

It was nice seeing everyone ... been hiding in the garage. Mel and the boys awesome job.

 

had a great time again ! brought 4 people with me. all would like to come back. THAMKS AGAIN for a great show. the NEBULAS made the background music just right !! they were awesome !!!!!!!!!!!

 

looks like saturday was a good turnout, i couldnt make it but i brought my 31 essex today and my buddy brought his 32 plymouth.

 

dam good job Mel! that was the best time I've had all year! we did some good old down and drity drag racing, cool off and had some beers and met lots of awesome people. I'll never forget it. thank you, Jared Brouillette

 

I had a blast last night Mel. Good times for sure.

Dude, had a great time! Hung with the Choppers, checked out the Oilers rides, met Katie and Mary, had a few beers....raced the coupe (5 times)......had a few more beers.....very cool shindig. Folks, Mel actually painted just about every sign you see on the track and on most of the walls, bitchin shit!

Im real sorry we had to bail on Sunday. It looked like rain and some of the guys really needed to get home.

I really hope you and the boys can make the Jamboree in Sept. We would really like to have you guys join us.

Thanks Mel, and everyone else, it was a blast!
We have some bugs to work out with the truck, but, the potential is there...it was still fun running, even with ZERO traction...there were an ENORMOUS amount of truly nice cars there...we had a blast, and at least managed to not break anything!
