I had missed this thread until today and I have to say it is simply awesome! I appreciate the workmanship and details (and the lower carbon emissions from the hole drilling!).

Based on @Roothawg 's comments, I'm gonna pick their brains r.e. high-build primer.

 

And they are local to you Gary.

 

This car demanded SW Deluxe instruments.

My NOS speedo sidesteps their modern ones' unreliability. The others are new.
The 0-90 ohm gas gauge matches the tank's sending unit.


To keep the holes perfectly round, I clamped plywood behind the dash. Then, after drilling pilot holes, I replaced the hole saw's center bit with a metal rod.




Basic switches. Bezels are 1.25" stainless steel fender washers.


Racecar spartan.

Hi Larry!
If the drill bit is retained & your drill wobbles, the bit's flutes will wallow out the pilot hole slightly so its bigger & the hole saw cuts a bigger hole.

The metal rod has no flutes, so it just spins harmlessly in the pilot hole, keeping the hole saw precisely where you want it.

 

Lots of great details. Keep in keeping on. This will be finished before you know it.

 

Not a lot to report, although DMV finally came through with a new title & VIN.

@Dino 64 & some OT car buddies hoisted the body off the chassis...

Now to finish-weld some previously hard-to-reach frame brackets & block sand the body.

loving the progress, going to be a killer car.
Just wondering how you're going to get the coil wire to the engine, will there be a plug on the firewall, or will you just run the cable thru a hole in the firewall ?

 

I do not know witch way Gary will route his coil wire, I run my coil under car on tail shaft , wire runs up spine of trans & bell , over 650hp No skip or miss. Coil is over 30 years old Yellow Accel square,
MSD does make a pass threw tower for coil /etc.
