Gary, Thanks for the videos. In the last one, as I watched, I thought about where I had seen the car before. This is what I Saw! IMG_4797.jpg

Roy did a fantastic job on the touch up. ;)

  8. Thanks for the motivational feedback, fellas.

    Yes- he did.

I've also monkeyed with the side glass for a few weeks.

  9. Old stuff.
    20250506_163444~3.jpg 20250506_172943~2.jpg

    New Vintiques anti-rattle strips.
    20250509_193137~3.jpg

Fuzzy channels with stock attachment hooks.
    20250607_162023~3.jpg

    Templates.
    20250524_134208~2.jpg

I installed them and cycled the cranks to confirm no binding.
    20250516_193025.jpg

New clear laminate from "Auto Glass Express".

I'd considered- but rejected- orange Lexan as too "HEY LOOK AT ME" poseur-ish.

    Assembly sequence of a Tudor's quarter glass/ channel/ riser/ fuzzy/ inner metal panel combo is a regular rubik's cube.
    dd239e2e7b09~2.jpg

The channels and fuzzies got pried wider in a few spots for smoother operation.
They work ok, but not great.

I wonder if my angle chop (3.5" in front, 2.5" in back) might've slightly curved the posts & channels?o_O

Anyway, back in elementary school, my friends and I plastered STP stickers on our banana bikes, lunch boxes, textbook covers (made from Mom's brown paper grocery bags), and everything else.

  10. The plan from the beginning was for a vinyl covered roof.

I stretched stock Model A "long-grain cobra vinyl" on a scrap lumber frame.
    20250628_153146~2.jpg

Then scuffed the roof with #220
    20250703_171952.jpg 20250703_172036~2.jpg

The vinyl is attached with 3M-90 high-strength adhesive, one side of the roof at a time.

My beloved bride lent a hand.
    20250704_110902.jpg 20250704_120056~2.jpg 20250705_114142.jpg

    "Hide-em" covers the edges.
It's attached with weatherstripping adhesive, plus #6 x 3/4" flathead sheetmetal screws through the front header.....
    20250705_162228~2.jpg 20250705_162333~3.jpg

.... and #16 x 1" wire nails through the slotted drip rail channel holes on the sides & back.
    20250707_171311~2.jpg 20250707_175346~2.jpg

Stock drip rail corners didn't match the hide-em's shape, so I welded some tubing that did.

    Voila!

  16. Very well done Gary, great job. Your hot rod is stunning.

  17. Chatted with both Gary and Dean, @Dino 64 at the Hot Rod Annual last year at Lincoln Speedway. So proud of BOTH of these guys for home-building two fabulous Hot Rods. They prove that with dedication and perseverance, it doesn't always take a professional shop to turn out some truly incredible cars. Thumbs-up to both of you. Love both rides.

Gary, you have put in the time on this car, and the results are just top notch. You're going to be inside the show this October, right?
