Yeah yeah yeah. But the lines of the car lend themselves to it sitting *** low. That's how the car flows. If you look hard at a 35/36-really look at one with an eye for complimenting its existing lines, that's what they beg for. Just because someone did it a certain way decades ago doesn't outweigh what's most important to me, which is having the stance of the car compliment its design.

Therefore it's coming down a tasteful amount and getting skirts.

Also, I was lucky enough to find and speak to the gentleman who owned the car from 57-98 and built it. Spoke to him and his wife for over an hour. They were TICKLED to know the car was being preserved (specifically the interior)

They told me a ton of great stories and filled me in on a lot of the history of the car/ answered a lot of questions I was curious about.

I told him that I was going to lower the rear some and add skirts to it, he said he thought it would look really good and that he had always thought about doing so.

It was a really cool thing for me to speak with him. He sold the car in 98 after storing it for over a decade and had wondered where it ended up since.

His wife was a sweetheart and told me she has more pictures of it that she will send. It was also apparently on a poster for the Salem roadster show in the late 60's or early 70's (couldn't remember) and he said its still hanging up in the corner of his garage! Can't wait to see it.

We made plans to meet up. I can't wait to let him see his old friend again.

You gotta get a better side view shot, we are impatiently waiting!

Looks great, did you have to trim the tunnel and all of that to get it that low?

Ha.. I'll take some tonight and text ya Joe.

I did have to cut the tunnel a little bit, yes.....

I was looking at the frame and I think I can notch it without removing the body, if I'm clever. That may be coming some time in the future.

Hey shooter. That looks really good.Having it that low there can´t be much space between axle and frame.

It's true, there isn't much space.

  22. I like!!! I'm doing mine the same way when I get time!! Up here in the NW nobody wants them dropped. Everyone seems to want them jacked up in the rear. I don't like the way mine sits. This winter!!! I actually have the wide whites and skirts already!! I like where you are going!! I'll see you at Billetproof!! We should park them together!!

I have noticed that up here. It's not just 36's, it's almost all cars. There just isn't the taste up here (generally) that there is in places like Cali, etc.

That's why you see 150 tri-five chevys with 20" torque thrust wheels at every stupid show up here (except the few good traditional ones)

It's just not the same ballgame up here. Very small circle of people (comparitively) in the NW who seem to get it.

  26. Atually I see alot of traditional Rods but just not too many customs. Actually a ****load of Hotrods. Just look at Billetproof, Hotrodarama etc etc etc but you don't see the lead sleds or taildraggers. A few but most shows the 1936s all look the same. I like different and the California tail dragger style on 1935-1936s.

    Thank you.

Just scored some 49 plymouth bumpers for it too I think. One buddy has a set but one is rough. Another buddy says he has one that is in good shape. SO, I should be able to scrounge up a decent set.

    Pics to follow.........

YES! This car is amazing! Perfect!! And the new stance kicks ***!

I cant help but think 5.60s will be too small for this car though..

Firestone 6.70s with a 3.25" white would really suit it better IMO

    See what I mean?

Either way, anything will be better than the radials!! :D
