Awesome rod and great story behind it all. Thanks for sharing Ryan and congratulations! You deserve it.
You got some good family there....... BTW......put some glasses on & a flowery shirt & you'd look like a younger version of that guy on TV ;-) Kev.
.......Ryan Cochran you've just been "punk'd" As I was reading the J.J. I kept waiting to read that. I don't know Keith, but I know enough to know that he wouldn't jerk your chain like that.....What a great story!! Can't wait to see that "unit" in person. Almost a traditional hot rod form of "Overhaulin" now that would be a show I could keep glued to. Great work Keith!!
Holly Smokes! Ryan that is perfect. I heard about this dream coupe for years, every day some new detail. I think its wonderfull it has finaly happened, a great builder, great friends and most important a great wife. congrats on all. I want more pics.
Perfect car made even more special with the involvement of friends and family. Great story too...you rule! G.
Dude, that car is a bit of ALRIGHT! The tire sizes are perfect, the exhaust pipes frame the deuce chassis nicely too. Everything.... Bad motherfukk'r.
Ryan, watch out flatmotors can (will) make you do funny things, like smile when ever you are around one. Did Bing bless it?
Holy Cow Wow! Not sure bout your busy schedule but it would be neat to see this @ the Kontinental drags or the Barons reliability run. Also, the heat/weather should start to let up soon & you have a swell new car so maybe we should all go on an informal hill country tour/cruise. Think about it.
It sure looks like a traditional hot rod to me! When they ask what the HAMB is all about? Just post a picture of your new ride. That says it all! and yes please show us some of the details....spread the gospel.
Congrats -- that's one bad looking ride . . . unbelievable what can happen with great friends and great resources (AKA -- the HAMB). I'm watching my life spiral out of control in flames . . . no chute in sight, but I know I might have one or two people out there that I can bend an ear to and work over some metal with. Many thanks.
Great car! My kind of style......black on black on black with a flathead!!!! Congrats......nice story behind the car..... Brucie
While I was working on the A this past weekend, I was wondering what kinda ride you had. No chit. It's very clean and I love what he did with the blacks. Hope to see it soon. My compliments!
Bets on what part your heavy right foot breaks first? Awesome build Kieth. Ryan my freind, you have a bitchen coupe there.
Just read this quote at work, and it's applicable here especially on this thread: "Everyone wants to be rich. Although most people think being rich is about having money, rich is a description for everything but money. Rich relationships lead to much more than money. They lead to success, fulfillment, and wealth." Jeffrey Gitomer, from his book The Little Black Book of Connections
What a perfect car! And, even better is the friendship forged between the Cochrans and the Tardells. Life sometimes is really worth living. And Ryan you are living life to the fullest. Rock on!!!
Read the JJ post earlier this morning - didn't see this thread until now, but let me add my sentiments too. This is the gospel. You're spreading it Ryan & it's coming back to you - as it should. Keep it real. Awesome car, but even more awesome to have friends like that. ...but the pics of you are out now!
I checked that bad boy out pretty closely at the show, but now to hear your story, wow. Too cool. As a model A coupe owner I have to say that is one bitchen ride. Congrats, it was well worth the wait.
Okay, consider me one of the masses. I read your JJ entry early this morning. I just couldn't respond right then because your story stirred my emotions to such an extent that I just had to consider for a while, the things you said. For years I have supported the theory that the cars are a side light to the people, the relationships, the friendships the we gain because of the cars. That's not to say this car isn't important, because it is the most brilliant example of what we are all about. I'm just in awe of the perfection. I hope to see it in person soon. It certainly inspires me, although I don't think I will ever be able to produce a car of this quality. Family, friends, combined with cars, makes life worth living. Live yours. J.
There is nothing that I can add but the fact that THAT is the car I have had in my mind for years now but haven't got around to or the money for. I have a set of 32 rails, a 30 A coupe, and a flathead. I got to get building. I need some build specs. Please!
Pops pretty much nailed it. I have many friends that I've met thru rodding over the years. Some of them don't have or are between cars at the moment but it doesn't matter because the cars have brought us together and that's the way it will probably be till we attend the other's funeral. Cars are the ticket to this society of like minded individuals. And Chip Tardel done built you one hell of a ticket! Happy Truckin', Dennis & Sue
What a great story, and I can't think of a more deserving person. Congrats Ryan. One thing I've always liked in every Tardel car I've ever seen (Both Vern and Keith) are the exhausts. And this car is no exception. I would love to see more of the exhaust system if anyone has pics.
