Introduction of new member

Not exactly new but wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ron Nye and I live in Edmond OK. I have a 55 Chevy G***er "Godzilla" that I am just about finshed building.

I had it out at Tulsa for a shake down and to see what would fall off. Found a hesitation that I will be sorting out of my carbs before the HAMB drags on the 27th.

I am a member of the Central State G***er ***ociation...and have been involved with cars for more than 30 years. So...howdy and I hope to see many of you on the 27th.

Thanks...I heard from one of our CSGA members yesterday about a big deal going on this weekend in Vernon TX. You going to make it?

 

If you go to the "g***ermadness.com" web page..."visitor's rides"...and "tri 5's"...my car is in the 3-4 row down. I put a little story there about it...and posted several pictures.

As soon as I figure out how to post pictures of my car here I will do so. It is not quite finished...but then again it may never be. Dragrcr50 will tell you...I like to screw with things and am never happy with what I got. RR.

He said that they have a big burn out deal down town...and then go out to the access road along the highway and drag race. If the police show they just move them down the road...no jail. Sounds like a blast...too bad it is so far from OKC.

 

Thanks...Built lots of cars...this one is special...maybe my last. I knew what it was going to be when I started...just had to stick to the dream.

I plan an 871 for the engine (7 1/2:1 compression now). It is doing 12's on regular unleaded gas...I am going to a deeper gear and hoping for high 11's in the next couple weeks. If I can get a blower on it...who knows. I have been trying to keep it streetable...to and from the grocery store. RR.

 

Vernon is a pretty cool deal. They street race tonight burn out contest tomorrow and the whole town shuts down for a big cruise tomorrow night. I have went the last 4 years. They also have a decent swap meet and auction !!!

 

Yea...don't know how I have missed hearing about it over ther years. A deal that cool. It sounds like a good time for sure. It has something for everyone. If it weren't raining so hard here I might just cruise on down...but my sliding windows don't like rain at all.
