Thought I should introduce my self, since I enjoy this site so much. I have always been interested in cars - starting with our '37 Ford 2 door when I was 10. Went to Art Center instead of buying the '40 Ford coupe I wanted, and then spent many years as a designer for vehicles at Ford, '63 - '02, with some input on models from '66 through '06. The process of building a hot rod or custom shows the creative thinking and the attention to detail that I really enjoy. I find the H.A.M.B. very compelling and one of the few I visit each day. Thanks to all of you. 63fdsnr
Hey 63fdsnr, after doing a search for "Art Center" I came across your post. I'm an Art Center alum, and was a Transportation Design major. You must've been on some very interesting projects over the years. Since you said you started on '66 model years, were you on the Tbird project by chance? (asking because I have one). One of my shop teachers at Art Center said he was at Ford at the time and worked on the pattern used on the door scuff panel of the '66 'Bird. One of my friends I graduated with was at the Truck studio at Ford up until about 3 years ago. Have a good one!
