Got a good make welder the other month.

But it was an invertor, i was assured by the sales assistant, this was the one i had to have.

Took a while to put it together, as the other welder carried on with its duties fine. When it started to muck around, thought thats it time for the new one to come out.

Got it out and together, used it for probably 10mins continuously, then it cut out. Read the manual, it said if used at full capacity, it would cut out and cool down.

Let it cool down for a while, tried it, it stuttered, then fed the wire properly.

Tried it again, about 30seconds in it dies again.

Think ive over done it or something leave it to cool again.

I did notice the sun was on it, it had made it quite warm.

Decided to pack up, and go and do a favour, also get some materials i needed.

Just wondered whether anyone has any input to this matter?

    Cheers Guys

I got a Thermal Dynamics 220 invertor unit and it works great! Zero duty cycle. Only draws 30 amps yet it tigs and can run 1/8" 7018 all day.

Cheers Paul, was yours a dear one?

Mine was about $900, so is it cheap or could there be something wrong with it?

    Thanks Roland
