Somebody fill me in on the process...Worth staying on the grounds? Decent accessibility? Is it a h***le?
Personally I think it’s a h***le due to the distance from the campground to the swap meet. You need to take a bus from the camp ground to the swap meet so hauling large parts is rather difficult.
@mbrede @Mr cheater The campground has continuous transportation from the campground to the swap meet area. Unless you are hauling a really big and/or heavy part, parts can be accommodated. I fail to see how staying elsewhere solves that problem, as non-camping parking is usually a fair distance away and no scheduled transportation as I recall. Ray
I did iola for the first time this year. At the exit of the swap meet, there are volunteers with gators and golf carts with trailers to haul your stuff to the campground for free. You can ride with them. Inside the swap meet, boy scouts with carts haul your stuff to the exit for$10, or you can carry it out very it yourself. I found it to be very well organized.
I've been camping there for 25+ years. Best bag for the buck. Buses run frequently. It was way better with the vintage tractors and hay wagons... but the lawyers put an end to that. I bring a vintage bike with baskets and ride back and forth the 1/4 mile. I park the bike in my buddies swap space. Makes it very easy ! One of the best swaps around the midwest !!
