I've got a Chrysler Tilt-n-scope in my Model A. It tilts front to back-on the other hand, I tilt to the side. :)

the question of tradition or not well put it this way if they came out 10 years sooner almost EVERYONE back in the day would have used them in there rods! so i say there fine. useing the tilt from my old 85 riviera because i couldn't get an old straight column in a practical position due to exhaust location.
its just one of those things you shouldn't give a rats *** about what others say

how far back into traditional are you guys going? 70 and 80 traditional, a tilt was the first thing you got. I have them or not, But Ive only been around since 74 (hot rods). I try to live in my generation and still do what I want. I am amazed by the jihad some of you guys are on. I can see some of you going into road rage over a set of wheels.
    Chill pills all around!
Of course he did ask for opinions, and we all have a different one!

Does anyone know if there is a aftermarket tilt column made that does not really look like one,I would like one in my 37 chevy p/u but want to keep the late 30s look to the interior with a original type steering wheel on a trim looking tilt column with a hidded lever for the tilt and no turn signal lever so I can retain the add on turn signal switch.

Tilt is fine as long as it's clean. My tilt colum is from a '64 and only has a shifter on it, no ignition key cylinder. The column is small diameter and clean looking. Using a big fat tilt column from a late 60s-70s car should be against the law. They look horrible. Same goes for the big fat billet polished up chrome turd tilt columns. Bleh.

Losing weight is a LOT easier said than done. I think it is as difficult or more difficult than quiting smoking :(

SO ... I always try to run a tilt column. :)
At 6 foot 2 inches tall and over weight ... it makes the vehicle a lot more user friendly and comfortable. I like to use a early Chevrolet/GMC van tilt. Small, clean and no key with a small illuminated P-R-N- D- L2- L1 indicator.

Do whatever you have to do to make the car comfortable and safe to drive. DRIVING IT ... is traditional in my book :D :D

I have a 63/4 Olds tilt column but it has a shifter and I have a floor shifter in my truck so the collar would need some work to get rid of the shifter hole so it would ne nice if there was a smooth tilt column made without a turn signal switch for the old timey look.

I've put tilt colums in some of my 50s cars and found through experience after I set the column where it's comfartable, I never change the adjustment! Now I just set up my seats/columns the way it's most comfortable and I'm happy with it.
