it was pretty hot in "The Valley" the other day, drove by a house with a bunch of free stuff out front, scored a box fan, it vented the garage nicely so i went out at midnight and laid some paint on my coupe, finished up at around 3am... ahhh!

102 today... cooler than last one, nothing getting done here!! Just ordering some interior parts...

  10. It's been in the high 90's here for the last month. I did get my exhaust manifolds built and all the garnish molding cleaned up and primed for my sedan. I have to work in short periods then in the house and in front of the fan.

Here in Denver it hit 100 again and that is 12 days of 100 or more. The record for one summer of 100 or more was 7 and we have almost doubled that already. I feel like we live in Arizona and we are not used to this heat

If you install the AC system yourself it isn't as expensive as you might think. The materials are not very expensive after you buy the AC unit. Has taken about 3 weeks to get it installed. Labor to have it installed is what really cost.

BTW, nice 53 Chevy, looked at you build thread.

Broke 100 again this Sunday, managed to get the entire brake system rebuilt on my new project, took a couple gallons of water to keep myself from getting heat stroke though.

Drove from Calif to Mich last week - it was 106 degrees at 10pm in Oklahoma City. That's crazy hot coming from 66 degrees on the Central Coast of Ca! The dogs were not liking it!

Lost about 12 lbs. this week,. all in SWEAT!
Pulled a bad (new TCI) TH350 out of the 34 Terraplane, and am installing an old unit I had laying around the shop, just to get the car out of here! Ain't easy doing it all yourself! Especially without a trans jack!

I travel to the Dallas area a few times a year.

When it's in the low 100's I always tell my friends that I am going back to Florida to cool off a little.

On the west coast of Florida most of our day's in the summer are between 89 and 93 degrees and there is always a nice breeze off the Gulf of Mexico.

Staying in Dallas in the summer each day seemed much hotter then Florida for sure.

I'm getting less and less done every day lately. The Nap portion of my work/nap schedule has been growing. In order to not spend to much Nap time I have decided to replace the missing work time with Beer time or possibly more HAMB time or a combo of both.

  27. I'm getting up early and thrashing until noon. Can't stand the heat of the day - especially these days.

It's all ot cars - my dd with 337K needed the intermediate and OD bands adjusted, then there was a sporadic miss under load, so changed plugs, and last weekend it was the EGR that had been keeping the check engine light on for the past 280,000 miles. Yeah, I'm sometimes slow to change out stuff, but every time I checked under the hood, the engine was still there.

I need to get back on my hotrod, dip the block, heads, crank and associated stuff in molasses, and finish plumbing the brakes. I'm hoping the brakes and steering are done by the end of the year, and next year get the engine and transmission together and in.

Then it will be freezin, swearin, drawer addin and BO going on here but not a lot of hot roddin.

Here in Arizona, we wear jackets until it hits about 80 or so. Car guys have to remember that heat is your friend. It evaporates the moisture and prevents rust. Yep heat is your friend.
Let's see, at about 9 this morning the temp in my garage was close to 105. But it's a dry heat. So dry that my shirt was soaked and I had to retire for the day. At least I don't have to worry about rust. Yep, dry heat. Didn't cook my brain. brian brane what?
