Cruising is not illegal. It depends on what your doing while your cruising that will get you in trouble.

A lot of places are making it illegal, which I have no idea how, who's dam business is it if you want to drive up and down the street? I know in Atlanta it used to be, and probably still is, the cops would sit on the corner and if you p***ed a certain point more then so many times an hour, you were ticketed. They also had the option to impound your car. That all started because of that freaknik stuff, college kids hanging out of their cars, riding on the roof, blocking traffic, partying in the street. Not going to get politics started, but in a lot of Nanny states thats a common practice to ticket you for driving "with no cause" now it's a law in a lot of places.

Why is our society churning out donk-loving, self absorbed teenage *****s with an undeserved sense of en***lement?

Citizen complaints, teen alcohol abuse, violence gangs drugs and drug trade, vandalism, litter, congestion...

Sloth... Your congressmen and senators rarely write the laws they p*** and people demand more and more from a government more and more willing to compromise your rights for their expediency.
instead of policing good and lawfull public activity of free people to weed out the criminal element causing harm, it is easier on johnny law for politicians to restrict the activities of lawful men of good cheer. Why deal with dangerous criminals
when you can regulate good simple peaceful people?
In the alien amnesty bill proposed by Ted kennedy and John McCain regarding a guest worker program; In order to insure that alien guest workers would be lawfully able to work in the country, registration for employment rights would be required of all US citizens. It required voluntary securement of a national id using electronic features (biometric, background, medical and other info on the id) be made mandatory for employment by all persons citizen and visitor alike to lawfully work in the US.
When they do not have the skills or the moxy to fight crime they fight rights because the people demand that something be done. such is the problem with expecting a sanitary world.
I've driven over a million and a half miles in the last 11 years. Hostile exposure to predatory law enforcement has been significant.
I temper this with the fact that MOST officers I meet are professional, good, and decent even on a bad day. Treat them with respect and you usually get it. The side of the road is not the place for a fight. take it the prosecutor first and then to court.
I've been manhandled and had weapons pointed in my face a few times. the officer did not know what he was doing or what was happening or was just being a barney trying to escalate. This points out another reason why the situation is as it is.
Your first reaction to this statement by me is for most people going to be "You must have been doing something wrong". Why is this any proof of such a thing? are you so knaive that you believe all cops are good or right all the time? They are as human as anyone else and just as prone to bad behavior as any other human. Society has been brainwashed, there is a policeman in your head telling you what to think.
In all cases the situation was diffused by me saying something to the affect of " I understand your just doing your job but there's no need to be treating me as if I called your kid ugly, I'm here trying to do my job This is just business, it doesn't need to get personal, I didn't do anything wrong so why all the drama."
The reply is usually something like "well you broke the law...and respect for the law etc."
Then I say "well that's debateable and unproven that I broke the law or not but I surely haven't done anything wrong or even comitted a crime. right/wrong have never been the same as legal/illegal. if you think I broke a law then cite me for it it's just business, it doesn't have to be personal.
I grew up getting beat up, I'm an adult man and I don't think I'm obliged to endure this kind of agression. either your going to screw up or I am and lives will get ruined."

cops are ***holes, one time i had walked to a drink machine at night and bought myself a drink, doing nothing wrong at all, cop comes screeching up behind me, orders me to the ground at gun point, throws me down, and handcuffs me ,then throws me in he back of the car, I asked what I did wrong and the response was, I don't know but i'll find out. He finally let me go but not before confi****ing 100 dollars out of my wallet. said I must be doing something illegal for having that money. It's legal robbery. I had done not a thing wrong, have no police record at all, and he said next time he saw me walking at night he would arrest me for vagrancy. This was from walking from my house 3 blocks to get a drink from a machine. sadly this seems to the state of the laws nowadays. guilty until proven innocent.

Cruising is cool if you're with a bunch of other old cars doing the same thing... like at Roundup. I remember being in Austin and watching some guy drive 4 blocks and turn around like 30 times just to drive... 4 blocks... over and over again... I love the old iron and everything... but you look like a dumb*** whipping U-turns on the green arrow, going 4 blocks and doing the same thing at the next green arrow. He was in ONE vintage car out of a sea of Hondas and modern cars. We ate dinner and he was still out there doing it when we left. I guess some people just think they're too cool for school... I mean "Skool".
