I almost hate to chime in on some of these cause my post count is so low my opinion doesn't mean **** anyway...heh But, my post count is low cause I don't chime in on everything that I read, I save em for when I think I actually have something worth while to add....

I really frankly don't give a flying **** what people call things...Some people just get all weirded out if they can't label ****, Hell, I'm even probably a little guilty too, It just slips out sometimes. The only one that kinda gets me is Streetrod, that conjures up trailer queens and every piece of billet you can order from pete and jakes or lokar..although its all the same **** really.

Call my stuff Traditional, Period correct, Hotrod, Ratrod (okok, Ratrod doesn't really apply, I like shiny paint haha), I don't really give a **** long as I'm having fun and I like it.

****, I'm even hitting my truck with satin black this weekend just to get it ready to sell at an upcoming local swap, I'm expecting all the ohhh..Ratrod! When ya gonna finsh it? etc etc <<insert corny stupid comment here>>
I don't care what someone calls it long as they step up with the Ca$h!

I try not to read any thing with words that are now used to relate to the style of vehicles built by hotrodders or customizers of the 40' 50's 60's.
It seems that when I do I don't know what the hell they are talking about as I can't recall seeing or hearing of anything like they are describing.

It's the that I begin to worry about all the things that I did to chemically alter my mind and appearentaly burn out way more brain cells that I thought possible at the time.

There were no Ratrods, There was No Ol skool, Nothing was built Traditional, there wer just Hotrods and Customs

Well said. I'm currently building a 32 5W and trying to use authentic parts wherever possible. My Dad is constantly asking why I'm using old parts. I tell him because that's what they use to use". He always reminds me that early rodders used what they could get their hands on. Not many speed shops 50-60 years ago. He's says that's why the old guy's cars are always upholstered so well and a/c'd. They can afford it now. They don't have to use old **** anymore.

I've had bikes for 35 years now, Let me tell you young bucks. A ****on beats a kick starter any day of the week. They used to spin the props on airplanes too. They old way isn't always best. Great to remember, but for everybody *****in' about how everybody else does it, remember one thing. It's cars. Something we all have in common. Enjoy the similarities and celebrate the differences, but quit all the ****in' whining.

No words where ever spoke better! My best recall of **** like that were unfinished projects that people had hid in their garage until they could afford to finish them!

I beleive the ratrod trend is changeing slowly I have been going to car shows like the Hunnert car pile up and I remember seeing black primer rods without a s***ch of chrome a few years ago and now they show up gleaming with beautiful paint I think "Ratrod" could also be called "work in progress" To each his own Cool is Cool I dont care for these shoe box tuners but when all they sell is electric cars that shoe box is going to start lookin good. Bikes I have my own likes to me a bike should have 3 things a kicker a chain and spokes well 4 if you count the oil leak LOL but thats just me. Hey I also slow up on garbage day to see what the neighbors getting rid of ????
