  1. I always call "bullshit" when I watch Star Wars, the Millenium Falcon has the sound of a SBC, but everyone knows that Falcons ran a 6 or Ford V8.

Sometimes they deliberately get things wrong because they don't want to give people ideas. Like, doing an explosion or robbery in such a way that if anyone actually tried it, it wouldn't work.

A good example is in Fight Club when they talk about making napalm out of gasoline and frozen orange juice. That will never work. What you want is gasoline and styrofoam. They must have figured some goof would try it and didn't want to be responsible for burning down his mobile home and killing his family.

Most movies with a decent budget hire a company to bring in props, they rely on the props people / company to get it all set up and be accurate on a short timeframe. The prop people get close with the time and money they have. When there's an inconsistecy they either ran outta time or didn't know better. The overdubs on video games/ firearms are in the editing room, whatever sounds good or the have sound already stored for gets used. To the point, lack of knowledge, funds, or time, same with half assed car builds and r*t r*ds.
