Hey HAMBers I have a question that I searched for but can not find a real answer too. I am building a '28 tudor on a '32 frame. I made my own brake pedal with a 6.5:1 ratio with an under floor master. My question is should the pedal be able to bottom out the master dry before hitting the floor boards? I have been told it should for those "oh ****, no fluid " situations, and then I have been told is does not need too. Please help?

Let it stop a 1/2 inch from the floor, that way you will get the most brake action if fluid is low.

I've always understood it is necessary for it to bottom out before the pedal hits the floor. That's what I've done with my present project. Remember to allow for future carpet if it's not installed yet.

If you push the piston all the way in it can ruining the master. It normally states in the bleeding direction,
