Is it possible (31 - 33 chevy p\u question)

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 39chevy, Sep 1, 2003.

  1. Allright I am wondering if it is possible to weld aluminum on to steel?

I am asking this because i would like to use that as a replacement for the wood framing in a 31-33 chevy p/u cab.

Also it would be nice to hear what other people have used and if you have any pic.
    Thanks in advance

If You don't have any wood at all use steel tubing or angle iron or something along those lines. The wood in My cab was really pretty good so I only shored it up with a minimum of steel, I did however replace the stock wood floor section with a steel floor after I channeled it. Von Doc

  5. well yeah the wood that is there is pretty much gone. If you touch it the thing nearlt falls over on itself, its pretty bad. Allthough the metal is really nice.
