  1. Selling a car .. and text only ? Lol. This world is doomed.

Sent some nudes already. Figured that would be enough.

But someone could put $7k in a car they wanted and they could afford and build it themselves over time.

Why no pictures except the exterior and one of the headliner. No engine pictures? I'm not from Georgia, but is this trouble? "Georgia is a Non Title State on any vehicle that is 1962 or older and and under no circumstances will the State of Georgia issue a title so any vehicles older than 1962 will always be sold with a current Georgia Registration"

Ad says clear title and "This car has the original 3.8 Liter 230 6 cylinder engine that runs awesome and purrs like a kitten. It has the original 3 speed on the column transmission that shifts good."
I'm sure seller would send engine pictures.
I was just making an analogy, not saying this is the perfect car.
That primered $7,500 one is missing parts, not original motor, etc. The eBay one reserve who knows, could be $15K. You'd spend a fortune in other one time+parts chasing all over IF you could even get everything.
Any car out there...I'd much rather spend $20K for something turn-key and nice than a project in rough shape.

Many here would not. The best threads are the ones where someone builds what they want, not the ones where someone shows what they just bought.

I understand that there are many reasons that keep someone from spending the time to build their own car (been there myself) but in the end that is really what this site is about.

Now why did the OP bail? I feel there is something shady about the original ad and only the OP can answer. They have been around.

Listed as being in California, number from Texas, (though there could be legit reasons for this) as reported no return phone calls and a changing ad? All red flags.

    P.S. I'd still rather have a 60 over a 59.

Well...that's true. It boils down to what you're after. I always hate to see a nice survivor butchered, made into something else, or someone creating a white elephant (although if they enjoy it...it doesn't matter what it's worth later).
I'm sure you understand my point though. Whatever car or truck you like for what it originally was you're way ahead buying an already good example. You'll have plenty to do just maintaining it.
And yes, I have the utmost admiration for someone buying a project that instead of going to the crusher is restored. Anyone who has been around old cars have seen the range of bargains to basket cases.

  11. Given how many people only have cel phones these days and don't change numbers when they move, having a area code that doesn't agree with their physical location is getting to be pretty common.

Watch this video set on youtube of the rebuild of a '60 plymouth, especially the segments on restoring the trim...then ask yourself how badly you want a '60 plymouth?

That wagon is neat, but who knows what kind of bad bodywork lurks under the quicky prime job, whether or not all the trim is there, and what kind of condition the trim is in. In its current state the wagon is a parts car at best, it would have been worth more if they had left it assembled and unprimed.

Every H.A.M.B.'er loves old cars. What's great is everyone's taste is different so I love the variety. Years ago I remember an article in Hemmings Motor News about all the "auction block red" 'Vettes, Mustangs, etc., asking what happened to all the green 4 door sedans?
I've known lots of car people over the years who liked everything from Crosley to International trucks and I've yet to hear one say "the only thing I don't like about it is I wish it had been in worse shape so I would have had more to do!"[emoji38]

No I am done getting new projects and prefer to get rid of one of my two I do have. I know people here on Hamb at times look for wagons so I thought I would post this one.
