I only use a trailer when towing a race car to the drag strip. This Nomad will be done soon with a rim/tire change to Cragar SS's. When done it will only see a trailer if it breaks down on the road. I hope you've had your fun? Trust me, I'm not offended. I have thick skin so to speak.

  2. Let's keep our sense of humor, fellas. Old age doesn't have to mean grumpiness. Carnuba is almost sixty. He's old too. Old dudes lose their train of thought sometimes. ha ha

I was outside of Driggs Idaho in a snow storm with a magazine writer 15 years ago and we agreed, LAST ONE OUT TURNS OFF THE LIGHTS!

The comments about old guys just wiping their cars and not driving them cracks me up. In my town there is a guy in his mid 60s with a couple cool cars. He built his 32', he built the teardrop he pulls behind it, and he drove from Indiana to Calf., Oregon, the Salt flats, and back. The year before he dragged the car with a different motor and took the title. There are plenty of these guys around that still drive their cars everywhere. I know they get to put on more miles than I do because they are retired, no kids at home, and have more funds. I'm thankful for all these guys that are hanging tough because they have forgotten more about building hot rods than most of us know.

I don't own a trailer...Some cars are trailered for good reason,,,I moved a guys car off his trailer for him,,,now that chopped 32 was an ultra cool 500hp rod but to drive it 400 miles ,,,,not if i had a trailer handy and comfy pickup to haul it,

Around here there are a lot of youngun's in the hobby, so it seems that there isn't much to worry about. In fact, my 16 year old cousin already has two rods!!!! (OT stuff. a '79 Chevy truck with a thumpin little 350 and a '72 Datsun 240Z that he just finished a V8 swap into!). I can remember too when I was younger, and still, how a lot of the older guys treated us young guys with disdain. I don't know why. But as I get older, I notice that we are more accepted the older we get. I have always felt that that may have scared off some of the younger crowd, forcing them to hang out with guys their own age and therefore getting into hondas. I am only 28, and after breaking three vertabrae in my neck and being involved in a motorcycle crash that has shortened my memory, given me a rebuilt knee, and soon a hip replacement, I sure feel old though!!!!!
