I realize this is more a old school, traditional rod web site(I love them too)but I also love traditional kustoms.
I have over 1000 photos of old rods and kustoms(some never displayed before taken in the early 50s) that I was going to post.
But evertime I sent in a test kustom post there are very few replies.
Some post unrelated to automobiles have gotten more replies then
    many of the kustom posts.
So for now , will just set back and enjoy the great rods and custom
    photos other send in.
    Thanks for your time.-----------------------------TWOCHOPS

I would love to see more Kustom pictures. It is a real shame that some of the stupid O/T posts get so much response and the good stuff gets very little sometimes.

Sometimes, the problem with picture threads is that there's no reason to respond. So it might help to ask a question with your thread to solicit more responses and keep your thread alive longer.

Post some of your pictures in this thread. The title is just drama-worthy enough to keep it going as a thread.

your question itself shows your newbie-ness. hang out a little more and enjoy the site, learn it. then rack up you post count with aimless questions...lol

this place is overrun with customs, half here own rods, half own customs, ands some of us have both

How dare you tease a Kustom pervert by saying"....I have over 1000 photos
of old rods and kustoms(some never displayed before taken in the early 50s)"
We need to see more kustom pictures on the HAMB. I loved your post last
week concerning David Lee Roths Merc. I cannot wait to see more of your
    kustom pics.

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

<.02> Put them up on photobucket so the site isn't bogged down. 1000 photos is alot. A link is easier to share. </.02>

If everyone posted to every thread, the HAMB would be nothing more than a huge clusterfuck.

Not sure about Photobucket, etc. as they probably won't allow enough bandwidth. But "over 1000" would be justification for it's own site, IMO. You might try your ISP to see if they have any tools that can just get the pics up without getting into any fancy coding or design work. Then you can put the link as your HAMB signature, "Click here for 1000+ photos of traditional customs!".

But at least give us a hint. Like others said, just because we don't reply doesn't mean we ain't lookin! Usually by the 3rd or 4th reply, everything I would say has already been said.

If you know, Rikster does an excellent "Spot Light" on custom cars and their builders. I am a die hard 40's early 50's (say up tp 1954) custom car aficionado. I visit Rikster's site a least once a week. And Please, Rikster, when are we going to see the build-up pics of Kent Vikmo's (JB) 40 merc? And yes there are a few O/T post, try searchin', right?

I think it is more like squablow points out - if you don't make the post in some sort of way to illicit a response, even if it has some nice photos, few people will see it because it will quickly move off the front page if no one has anything to add.

Some of the other kustom posts have gone on for months - 28 pages plus and keep showing up on the front page from time to time months after they were started.

In fact, in a recent post with a popularity pole Kustoms were pretty much neck-n-neck with rods around here.

Now lets see some o them photos!

I read almost every post, even if I don't have a clue what it's talking about but I rarely reply because a) I don't want to waste the bandwidth just to be posting a reply and b) I'm here because this is the best place on the net to learn about this thing I love. And if you're too busy talking, how can you listen?
Have you looked at the column labeled "views"? That is a more accurate gauge of interest, I think.
And keep posting kustoms! I love 'em!

Well, I don't really understand which posts you think you have gotten such poor respons from...? But if you post old pics from the 50-60's, I know that I'll be happy to see them anyway.

  20. I appreciate a good custom as much as the next guy. Usually I look at custom posts as i have little to ad, but that doesn't mean I haven't seen and appreciated the pics or the comments.

Post away, its not like you're clogging up the board with stuff B/S.

Gosh, your such a tease...... You can't say you have pics of kustoms and then not post em. It is true what the others have said, pic posts don't get the length because what more can you say about a pic other than, oooo and ahhhh. But we all would love to see the pics, at least i know i would for sure.

Thanks for the replies -- I guess I needed a little reassurance.

I live in Michigan and winter in Florida. I only brought down one album that I call "New pictures --Old stuff." I'll post some from that album. You'll have to wait for the "old stuff" when I get back to Michigan.

Cool, that Fairlane looked very nice when it was purple. What's the current story?
