Not a fan of semi-gloss, satin, or primerd cars. Would be a deal breaker for me. For the most part I walk on by. Same for the monochromatic look of same color bumpers, titanium painted trim, or original chrome parts.
I won’t even buy a new pickup without the chrome package..... Just a 50’s guy I guess.

I've done several deuces in satin black, got big money out of a couple. Currently have a deuce pickup in satin green and am doing a deuce chopped highboy sedan in satin black. I've had it both ways, I have 2 shiny black deuces but I've grown tired of 20K paint jobs on something you drive.

valid comment, and I guess the same reason as ‘back in the day’ there were satin or primered paint jobs. - Waiting to save the money for gloss paint.

I have always wondered why does it have to cost so much, (obviously then as in now), - how long does it actually take to prepare and paint a car that has had the panel work already done ?
Isn’t that the reason we see so many cars in satin ?
A lot of the early hot rods aren’t that big, and hi-boys even less in size.
(Maybe this should be a question for a new thread).

Do it yourself shiny paint jobs are not very expensive.

I'm a product of the 60's so I prefer shiny. Shiny is good.
