I have been trying for three days to get ahold of someone at "The HotRod Company" to order one of their Model T gas tanks they sell (you see them on the modifieds alot) and all I get is a phone message asking for people to leave a message. I have left three messages now, no response. just wondering if they are still operatings..
could be on vacation, with the economy as it is they may have closed for a couple weeks some business 's do that in the summer,
Yes, side_valve is his HAMB handle... Recently he mentioned something about moving shop, or something. Maybe they're in the middle of moving. FWIW, those tanks are GREAT! I bought one from them and it is just awesome!
And if anyone knows, I'm still trying to find out what the ohm or amp range is on the sender that comes with those tanks. I sent him an email awhile back and he sent me back a wiring diagram, but it doesn't say anything about the electrical specifics so I know what gauges can be used with it. He hasn't replied to my email regarding this question. So if anyone has this info, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me a PM! THANKS!
Him not returning your call may be a fluke... (moving or?)\ Mike (side_valve) has always been great to me... be patient!
I thought I could look around and find the actual ohm range but was unsuccessful....I used a Speedway/Stewart Warner gauge and it matched. Can't find on Speedways site or catalog what the range for the gauge is. Speedway part number 665-82303. 240-33 sounds familiar....
Oh cool! Thanks man! I have an S/W gauge that I wanted to use. 826541. Probably very similar to the 82303. I appreciate the info! I'll dig a little deeper based on that info. Just had nothing to compare to, so I didn't even know where to start looking. EDIT! Just found this... http://www.stewartwarner.com/catalog/fuel240.html 29-33.5 ohms full 240-250 ohms empty
I just poked around their website a little....and found where they sell them with either 240-33 or 0-90. But the 240-33 does seem to be the most common. Might have to wait him out and see which one he sold you. Or just have to pull the sender out and gut a meter on it. The description for the upright tanks....
Mike moved the business to Cambridge, WI. not long ago so he might be finishing that up. I wouldn't worry as he is a super standup guy.
Yeah, I think I'll just pull it out and measure it... Probably better to make sure anyway. Now I have the problem of figuring out what my gauge rating is. Kind find a listing for my older S/W gauge. Probably 240, though. I guess it will work or it won't, right? HAHA!
I just got a call back from them. They are just very busy they said.. Talked with a really nice guy who was helpful. used my alliance discount and got parts coming my way.
