    Even in the porky 71 Mustang they ran 13.80's.

    In order, top 5 :

    Mk IV BBC, any variant but bigger is better.

    Nailhead, who doesn't like those valve covers.

    Early Caddy dual quad. Nuff said.

    Packard 356 inline 8 (160-180). 9 mains and TQ from hell. Add a finned aluminum head and Edmund's 2 carb for serious bonus points.

    The inimitable SBC, early, dressed, built to sing like a die grinder.
