Event Coverage Is there camping at the HAMB drags?

I already did a search and didn't see anything, and I went to the HAMB Drags section too.

Is there camping at the HAMB drags? Or strictly hotels.

There have been some that camped at the track, but there are no facilities for such. I think there is a campground just out of Joplin, some of the AZ guys usually stay there if I remember correctly.

 

just google: joplin mo camping and about 10 campgrounds show up.

 

I know a few HAMBers will be at the KOA campground right down the road from the host hotel.

 

But the party is at the headquarters hotel!? Half the fun is hanging out at the hotel lot til late Friday and Saturday.

 

Best campground is just south of Joplin 5 miles on old highway 71 to Tipton Ford and turn on the even older version of highway 71 and cross the beautiful Shoal Creek and you will see Undercliff Campground with canoes and etc. Also there is my favorite Undercliff bar and grille. Sort of a cave with a rustic atmosphere and some outdoor seating. Nice place to drive a hot rod on the old curvy roads that follow the creek.

 

I don't think that camping at the track is an option. Although I'd think it would be a hoot.
