I threw out the word "poser" but may have been misunderstood.

Aint nothing wrong with a mostly period correct D or E gasser running 13's or 14's or even slower.

But.. today if you want to race and do it safely, you will have to make some compromises.

What I was referring to is the reproduction, cliche' parts that get thrown on a car without any thought or homework.

    That's the funniest thing I've read today:D :D

Good luck with your project Dale. Just be sure it's not one of those P/Gas cars.

Ok, now I'm confused. Where can I find specs on these P/Gas cars? ;)

Easily spotted by their lack of tire baking torque and blistering 17-18 second 1/4 miles, they may also have the lightweight 6 cylinder options as opposed to those heavy "boat anchor" V8 :)

shakey, as you know i buoild em , two in the shop right now both 55's , we refer to them as gasser inspired.... one drag car from rhode island and one street car from houston, and the street version is a blown and injected 383 4 speed two door hardtop, damn i like the "gasser inspired cars" I personaly prefer a race only car for the strip ....but to all here build what you want and can afford ..

  9. Oh hell, we'd just throw the shit right back at them. Except we'd hit em!

It would be like two old monkeys throwing their own poo.......lol.....Littleman...........Never enough Gassers or hotrods........problem is.......not enough old parts.......its getting harder to find the stuff...

  11. I think Dale is just trying to get a rise outta some hambers.

  12. I can barely keep a straight face on this one. In response to your saying old parts are harder to find. Steve Mangante of Hot Rod magazine found a solution and did a straight axle, ALTERED WHEELBASE, 1980 Ford Fairmont. Stock straight 6 cyl and all. Nice guy, but he's sure bumped his head on this one. And he's the guy that commented on all our 60's Hot Rods in the magazine a few months ago. I think in order to keep the "bumped your head" theme, he should put 100 spoke Daytons on it. Hell, if you're gonna build shit, then build shit

  13. The Chili Man likes this thread too.

And I like the way I find thin skin on any Gasser thread.

Tingler, I sure like to razz you. I'd like to meet you someday. Drinks'd be on me. You'd probably poke me in the nose, but I guess I've earned it. Gonna go and visit some old racer pals in Arkansas, so don't rule it out. ha ha

    TINGLER

    Chili man,

Tingler digs you. Don't sweat it my man.

I'm sure we'll probably meet somewhere someday. I'll take you up on the drinks offer....and I'll not sock you in the nose.

Tingler understands what you ol guys are sayin'. Horsepower talks and bullshit walks.......if you simplify it like that I'll say NO KIDDING.

Porkenbeaner said it best. A gasser (race car) is always about going FASTER.

Tingler can dig it. Tingler is living it. Maybe Tingler's stuff is fake right now....but its always evolving. ;) :D

Someday 50 years from now, Tingler will have a seriously fast car. (yes thats how slow the process is taking for me) :D

    Disco Dale rules.

Build it. Build it and paint Disco Dale on the door.

  16. Reading this thread is like being forced to watch "Blackula" or some other cheap ass 70's disco / blaxploitation flick. If you notice the later replies, everyones throwin the rap like Dale. How gay.

Excuse me but i have to get back to jacking off to OSR and my JC Whitney catalog and dreaming about a job polishing parts at Edelbrock or sweeping up Jesse James' shop. - Wow!! is Jesse James really a Hamber?!?
