Hot Rods Is this 1932 Ford 3w Coupe a good buy and is anyone familiar with it?

Sure looks familiar, and 32-34 stuff is always expensive so I actually expected a more shocking number on it. Says Fort Worth on it @TexasSpeed you seen that one before?

Also, it says it is original Henry Ford steel and was featured in the Lost Hot Rods II book

Well apparently it's got history. I wonder if they have pictures or any proof of that proclaimed history. I personally never cared much for the east coast look but I do kinda like this one. There's too much front wheel offset and no front brakes but that can be fixed. As for the price, well if it's a real deal 32 steel survivor someone might just pay it. Spend some time with it in person and be sure it has the build quality you are looking for. Some old hot rods can hide a lot of boogered up stuff and may not be worth that kind of money.

Maybe it's me, but I'm going to say overpriced for what it is and how it's been done. I think you can find better and myself would wait to do so.

That was Chris Itos car, he got it from a dealer that bought it off ebay, Chris did a lot to make it drivable and detailed, I think it sold for 30 to 35K car which was fair, now super over priced.... Its in the Lost Hot Rod book...

  9. Not to take anything away from the car , but if were a buyer , I would do a lot of home work on the car and do a trip to see the car in person. Even though I am in Alaska I still would make that trip. That could be money well spent.
As mentioned before , I feel that the asking price is a bit high.

I'd drive it. It is priced like all vehicles from that chain dealership: high. Decide what it is worth to you. Offer that and if they take it, you have yourself a Deuce. If that don't, wait for the next one to come along. You're in the driver's seat.

I like parts of it, but wonder if this is a good choice for someone new to vintage hot rods. Seeing it in person is mandatory, plus taking somebody with you who is more experienced, and will know what to look at closely. Rice n Beans should be your first contact.
After reading that description I need a shower. I'm thinking whoever wrote all that shit has an after hours job as a "fluffer".

My hamstrings are cramping just thinking about driving it... I would have to pass on the color too.

I haven't ridden in a chopped and channeled '32 before so I can't make any comments other than to say there is lot less room than in your pickup. But we have never been a practical bunch. Lol

I'm not sure how much surgery I'd need to enable me to get in there!

No front brakes and axle oil leaking into the rear brakes makes for a wild, exciting ride!

Looks like a 30K car that needs a lot of work. I'd pass.

Not for that kind of money, 60K should get you a lot more car than that one.

Looks like in your pic that’s a wheel cover? Might be an illusion with the old tire?

Looks like a polished ET wheel, for that money I would expect new tires:confused:

also begs the question why its worn like it has?

the ruined tyre isnt such a bad thing as a new tyre would hide that clear fault.

Looks like its been jacked or fallen on a jack on that lower cowl too.

I'd be looking for a much cleaner car for 60k!!!

Look at the lower edge of the cowl in that picture of the ruined tire.

I'm going to assume that you have the ready cash to buy something like this and it's burning a hole in your pocket. First thing I'd do is read the reviews on Streetside Classics. The positive reviews are for the most part from sellers, lots of negative from buyers. These consignment places are no better than the "buy here-pay here" auto sales places in Anytown, USA. Be ready for the "Well, if you don't want it for this price, we've got a guy in California, Massachusetts, Sri Lanka.... who's ready to buy it right now" line. Anything that they can do to get that vehicle out the door so that they can pocket their commission. I didn't bother to read the reviews and lost a lot of money on an off topic little Italian sporty car because it was just exactly what I thought I wanted.

  27. Nope.....not a deal in my book. 30k, maybe. 56k buys a much better car. Too many things I don't like about it. Pass....

Hold on to your wallet and look for another (better) car.
PAY ATTENTION! Your gut feeling is warning you to stay away.
Is it legal to drive a car with no front brakes in your state?

I wonder why the front tires are worn so badly? That should scare you away.
Would be good to see what the underside of the car looks like.

  29. Reread post 26 14 times. Then we hope you pass. I know of one car that sold there that was a mess.
