I saw the car in person because I live in Dallas. It is a well documented ride and I would buy it if you like the style. It would cost too much to make it back to a traditional hot rod.

Most are saying stay away its hacked the car was built in the 50's for fuck sake thats how they did it back then. If you have the cash get it and turn it back to what it was.

You just told the OP how to take about a 57k hit, and turn it into a 75k hit if he does the work himself;)

Very 60s for my taste... if youre into that look it has it. Personally id rather build a repop 32 body my way than roll around in that rig

This is what I think on the whole deal and what other folk are saying, Its just my opinion, its not worth spit, but its what I would say to you if you asked me face to face ..

Regardless of the price if it was 20k or 100k they are only worth what you are prepared to pay for what you like ... I wouldn't buy a fancy watch or expensive sneakers or even fashionable work boots to tread around TROG. But regardless of what I bought for whatever price, its a hot rod and its more than likely to need going over .

None , absolutely NONE of this stuff is 100% on the button. Its an old car built from old parts in an old fashioned way so its no TESLA .. ( as if you would want one on those things in the same price bracket )

Get this in your head, whatever you pay and from whomever you buy its going to have faults that the original owner learned to live with but the new owner will recognise and feel the need to amend.

Ive never saw a hot rod that I wouldn't revise , I've especially never driven one that drove as good as mine ... See what I did there ... I compared mine which I built and am very familiar with to somebody else's that I've driven once or twice ...

Regards this particular car ,if the black and white pic was posted first and you said you were buying that car, most of the nae sayers would be all over it .. bestowing the virtues of the old school build.. EVEN THOUGH we know from experience that most old school survivors were juvenile engineered hack jobs ..

I don't have the financial means to afford a hobby car in that price bracket , But if I had the means, and lots of folk do, I wouldn't dismiss it outright .

I would look it over good and proper , list the faults and cost up the value of the amendments . If you cant do the work yourself and have to pay to have it done I don't see labour cost as part of the value , the labour cost simply satisfies an individuals desire to take part in something they cant do for themselves .. You have to pay to play and if you can afford it , then do it .

Would I pay the asking price as it sits .. well that's an absolute no, simply because you never pay anyone's asking price .. Everyone is trying to screw you, that's a fact ..

Go in with a knowledgeable buddy, note the faults, asses the repair costs and offer them half the asking price letting them know in the process that the car needs lots of work to be roadworthy .. They are dealers , the only thing that matters to them is they get a cut .. If they say No way, you leave them a contact and walk away .. In a week or three you will receive a call with a counter offer which you will counter too , and eventually the car will make its way to you for what you want to pay .. :) grossly over simplified that process but you get the general idea ..

The end price after repairs and refurb will probably still exceed the current asking price but you can then be reasonably confident with what you own .. but it still wont drive as well as a well used $1000 Toyota Aygo, but that's half the fun :). If you can afford to loose £100k and not break a sweat then go for it ..

    I don’t understand why people
Say that it would cost too much to turn it into a traditional hot rod. It is a traditional hot rod. It was built in the 50s. Its a little
Bit of a hack job, so get the price down to what you feel its worth and make it yours!

While it is almost a year off now, if time is not of the essence, I'd say take some money to the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville or Possibly one of the bigger GoodGuys venues. The Nats must have about 500+ 32 Fords there and for sale signs on probably at least 50 of them.......and you never know if someone might sell one that doesn't have a sign if you wave money in front of them.........:)

And if its at the Nats, its gonna be driveable.

If it is what you like,ok. Consider looking at it in person or have a trusted person look at it.
Not sure just how comfortable it rides as set up. and I am by no means a 32 ford guy , but I am looking for something, myself and know plenty of die hards. IMO , asking price is high , and seeing others answers , it needs ALOT of work. Set your budget , usually you do get what you pay for. And Streetside reviews are low.

  20. Your new to this, unless you want a car with some history it may have that but I personally think it overpriced, the same many will buy you a nice coupe.

Don't jump at the first thing you see. HRP

  21. Well, it’s reduced to $49,995! Such a deal!
Just reading the ad copy is a joke. Who makes up this BS?
    Keep on looking!
