I have a 37 2 dr sedan....very easy car to rod. I dropped a 318 into it. The only hard part was the exhaust manifolds. I ended up milling a set at a slight angle to make some 'block huggers'. I put a stock Mustang II front under it and a 68 Fairlane 8" out back.

If you end up needing a grill, I've got one.

  2. Thanks for the input, I got a call from the guy and the car will be in my garage tomorrow! Thanks again.

Here's a few pics of my '37 Dodge to give you an idea. It's channeled and not bagged. It's an "odd" car as you don't see a lot of them at all. Lots of positive comments and lots of folks try to figure out what it "was".

  4. The car looks great, I was wondering what the best way to lower this car would be, bags were one way, but I was kicking around channeling it, how much work was it to channel it and how much did you channel it?

you could probably strip it and sell parts for a few thousand(s), even if you didn't want to fix it up... but why in the hell not?

  6. No, I plan on fixing it up!

So ya did get it. I am a Mopar guy and that car is awesome. If I had an opportunity to get one for 500, I would be all over it too. That car would sell here for like 3-4000.00 out here in Los Angeles. There are no more good deals here in this state. Everyone wants an arm and a leg for what they are selling out here! Keep us posted on what ya do to it. KNUX!

Channeling may just be the ticket to lower that thing. Yes, it's a lot of work, but so is changing all your suspension around, endlessly screwing around with the airbag setup, etc. & then you end up having to raise the trunk and drive tunnel anyway. Plus, it looks like you have some rust to repair down low, so why not just head that direction right from the get-go?

Just do like the good 'ol days - channel - c-notch - dropped axle - Done.

  10. The guy is ripping you off! Give me the location of the car so I can go straighten out this bum!;)

    63CadGuy,

:) In one word.................Buy *** Look at it this way even if you don't build it, buy it for an investment. I think you could turn around and sell it for more. Good vintage tin is out there but it 's getting harder to find,.

  12. Yeah, I had it hauled home this morning and cleaned all the leaves and parts out of this afternoon! I'm stokked, now I got to figure out how to get 4 cars into a 3 car garage this winter so I can put some time in on it during the long winter months

  13. I'm starting to lean towards this route, sounds like the best way to go, but we'll see. My biggest concern is the frontend. I'll have to figure out what is the best way to go with the front, mustang II or some kind of dropped original style?
