Whatever you say, you must have been present the whole way so yeah, it's all ********. There's just 1 thing though, and it's that I can prove it. But clearly not to you. Thanks for the insight...

I sold a 61 Bonneville for $800 (basically a rusted out shell with good gl*** and top) last year that the guy was going to cut the top off to put on his 61 Chevy. Probably less work than this car might take and certainly less money.

dorf . Yes, u will notice I never used the word Impala; and I agree with u. Only 1962 Bel Aire Sport Coupes can be labeled "bubble tops"

Too high of $$ for the 1961 Bubbletop the OP asked about. Nope^^ Bubbletops have been called that for decades. 1961 & '62. Save yer breath, I will never submit to this 'only' jive. The Starliner of 1960 & '61 are Ford's version of bubbletops.

only people trying to make a silk slipper out of a sows ear call all of them bubble tops .

  8. You can do that in a 59 or 60 too..Still not "Bubbletops" though.

  9. How about those 61 Plymouth "bubbletops"?

Mr. Slammed always has the right bubble bottoms to haul around in our bubble tops, no matter what year they are. As far as living through ****, who cares. We're here now, we communicate what best lets others know WTF we're talking about. If I cut the B U B B L E T O P out of 61 GM Sport Coupe and weld it into a 62 Belair it would be right. It would fit. It wouldn't be "born as" but for all intent and purpose we have another.

Dorf, I wasn't sure what you were calling ********. What I sold mine for, the cost to resore, or the fact I call em bubble tops. Thanks for clearing that up. I'd hate for this to turn into a "bubble blowing" contest. Just sayin...

Lets just all say, it ain't worth it. OP's post inquiring about the car for sale, and the bubbletop debate.

Aye, the tops & bottoms of these curved beauties are to acquired, ravished, rubbed, smoothed & buffed to a high lust(er). Silky like. Hard Candy. And Scott Sullivan transferred a Bubbletop top (ravine car that makes the OP post look minty!) to a rust free '62 Impala the past year or so. Can not wait for another Bubblicious ride to hit the highways!

I guess my 56 Ford Victoria is one too. Now my favorite one is the guy who cut the top off a 1961 Ford Starliner, put on a 1962 Ford Hardtop and showed up at Daytona...NASCAR was not to happy.

To answer Your question, Absolutely not. Once again, goes to show how overrated "reality-TV" has become and how underrated actual hands-on restoration work is these days.

I'd look for another car if he doesn't drop his price. It's not cost effective to buy that one. You'll have to sink a lot of money into it to get a halfway decent car. Where if you find a better one for more money you'll probably be ahead of the game. Just my $.02.

  25. Calculate what it would cost to bring that car to the condition you would want and then price one in that condition. You would probably be better off paying more for a finished car (or at least one in better condition).
