This one is causing a big argument over on Facebook. Lol. It’s a 4 lug / 5 lug wheel. Does anyone recall these things being sold by any of the aftermarket companies? Or was this thing modified in someone’s garage?
That was my guess. It was somebody who works in a machine shop, or at least has their own mill at home.
Like mentioned by others on original FB post. I've seen plenty of cheap aftermarket wheels drilled like that from the factory
I'd like to see the back of it, to see if one of the patterns is in the webbing or if it's a solid wheel on back.
If that wheel is OEM , I could see some one grabbing out of parts bin to Modified to use maybe on test track / scenario. Just like shifter in Cobra's
A machine shop supervisor would (should…) not let that out the door. I’ve seen apprentices doing poor quality “foreign orders” (work for their home) only to have the apprentice master bin it and make them do it properly. cheers, Harv
For sure it’s re drilled. I know with the EA series Subaru cars ( Loyale and prior )which had an odd bolt pattern, people would re drill I think 6 lug wheels as someone had a template to do it. The bolt holes on those were not close. always thought it was janky and I’d never do it myself
Maybe a Cuban modification ? Seen some unique thinking before Cuba was Reopened, A cap/ disc wound Cover up . Back in late 80's when Ford Rangers came With Aluminum Looking Centerline Oem wheel's Filing bolt holes to fit Gm , did not have Mill then . Back before outlawing split wheels using block of wood to Center wheel to hub as tightening hub lugs .
