I might be getting this 58 f100. This axle does not appear to be stock. I thought they were straight unlike the dip in the middle of this one. Am I correct?
Why has everyone I've seen not have the 2 bends in the middle besides this one. Wouldn't this cause interference with the tie rod if I flipped the axle?
By flipping the axle do you mean putting the springs under the axle? If so you will have interference with the tie rod. You can however buy spacers for the steering arms that lower the tie rod 2"...I think Speedway carrys them
check out www.droppedaxles.com Sid makes tie rod drops and you can use that old axle you got for a core and get yourself a 2 to 5 inch dropped one
this is what i thought of when the idea of flipping a ford truck axle was brought up...dont ask and this isnt mine. not really helpful just wanted to show this picture but it does deomonstrate another ford truck axle that has the dip in the middle
