if it says hurst (terrible blurry photo) then it is a Hurst Ram rod shifter. It is the same type (inline) with no gate

A vertigate Shifter will have "Mr. Gasket" on the shifter. I have one but cannot find a photo of it. The handle is a "t-type as I recall. It too will have "Mr. Gasket"

  9. My VGate is a Long version,,,,,Leonard Long,,,,,,best shifter I ever had .

    Tommy

  10. My Mr Gasket v-gate had an aluinum shifter with an 8ball shift knob. I couldn't leave anything alone back then. Absolutely bullet proof.

Buddy had one on a top loader Ford. Damn hard to miss a gear with it! Downshifting was tricky, had to take it slow on the 3-2 shift and let the gate fall. Reverse could be tricky too with the short lever, but you never had to worry about hitting reverse on a hard forward shift.

The shifter company's make one shifter. The different adapters let it fit your Ford trans, a different adapter plate and it fits a GM trans, another different plate and it fits mopar, etc.
    Also need the corresponding linkage
