Technical Is this factory

I have this hood ornmenant and I have no idea what it is from. It hangs on my wall and people ask me what it's from, I have no idea. So I am going to the power of the HAMB. It is real gl*** in the front.

 

Any logo or numbers on the bottom?

 

I'm thinking that is a fender ornament , not a hood ornament.

 

It just says made in the USA on the bottom. If it is a fender ornament what's it off of?

Looks to be a 1940 Buick fender-mounted parking light.

 

^^^^ there you go. whenever I want to find out what a part is I do a google images search by year, like search "1940 automobiles" and page after page of 1940 cars pop up, then you narrow it down from there.

 

I do that a lot for steering wheels and dash clusters. You can usually id them pretty quick that way.
