I use a sock cut up!Scrungies are made out of Nylon & not as absorbant as a good "Black gold toe" sock 10-13 size!!lol
Also i don't think its as much as a problem with the engine as its those cheap **** Chinese breather caps with just holes punched in them & no baffling material!!

I take my old Black Socks, cut the bottom off, roll them up and use them for the same thing....been doing it for years.........You know when we said Queer, there wasn't as many bragging about it...........kinda like calling someone in office a public servant.....now he's a crooked politician and it's acceptable.........

I've used one on my 429 - it works great.

Every six months or so I wash it in kero and put it back in place around the breather cap.

 

Thay fellas, look close on the dash to the left of the steering wheel in my T-bucket amd you'll see the name "Six-Shooter". I got the letters (with adhesive backs) from Wally World in the Crafts & S****booking Supplies section. So, NO...I don't think using ponytail scrunchies to stop oil from leaking from under an oil breather is gay. Now, wearing the ponytail scunchie would be gay (depending on the color).
