For me life has gotten in the way. The wife lost her job at the end of May, finally got a new one this past week. That threw a kink in things for a little while. I have been a bit overwhelmed trying to keep my 3 year old business going. I have been contemplating some changes to the direction of it. Not sure what will stick yet. I have made some progress on my shop getting it more efficient and it has boosted my moral a lot, got me excited again about working on my own stuff, hope I can keep the enthusiasm up. Unfortunately I don't have anything to post up or to add to any others' threads so I have been just lurking mostly.

Ive been working a bit on the coe lately,by lately i mean this last month, bolted the running boards to the coe, mounted the radiator craddle and had to move stuff around and weld a mount for it..
Also made a new shaft lower bearing support and played with my stering column so is wiggle free now.
Made new engine mounts, finally caught a break and will start ordering mayor parts soon..

  7. Hell Hank Ford did that more that 70 years ago. Well not quite the same, but interesting how he did it. twin engine ford rearview.jpg
Two completely separate drive trains, driving two very narrow rear axles.

I'm not dead, just really, really tired...ha. I have not been on the site for a long time because I've been very busy with the real estate market looking for a place to live with a BIG shop. I need to find a place to live fast...bulldozers are lining up to flatten my current place as the owner prepares to build a new house on the land.

If my wife would go for it I'd buy an old Walmart and put a single wide next to it for living quarters.

I ran it by her. It didn't fly. At all.

  13. I know a lady that is pretty heavy into cars and trucks, her home was built by Morton. (pole building)
I can't imagine the h***le it would be to have to move after living here for 39 years. I could probably fill 10 semi trailers with my junk.

I can buy a farm located 30 minutes out of town with a 40x60 building, but the house is in bad shape (crumbling stone foundation). I wonder if I can build a new modern house for $100k? I could have a COE roundup and all you guys can cruise up and help me build a house in a weekend...I'll feed you kielbasa, stuffed cabbage and let you park in the building.

    LOL

  16. I prefer sauerkraut with my kielbasa, yah hey!
Crumbling stone ba*****t is no problem, 6x6 cribbing, jack it up, dig the stone out, lay block. I used to work for a mason, we did several houses and a couple barns that way.
My house was built as a garage, I built a ba*****t beside it, called in a crane and swung the house up onto the new ba*****t, has worked for 35 years.

The COE builders may be a small number, but we are a dedicated errrr.. insane bunch. Mine is pretty much done for now and I'm working on the next nutty project but I check in daily here and also post updates on my non-Hamb sanctioned project.

There are some "futures" for my COE like a rear roll pan, extending the running boards, probably redo the panel under the sleeper, finish that damn steering wheel, maybe a bumper if I ever find something I like. In the meantime we are just enjoying the hell out of driving it.

I check in several times a day. Not getting anything done until the weather drives me indoors for several months, that's when my coe work all gets done.

  24. I average about 4 hrs. a day on mine. I've spent most of the summer replacing the Allison 2200 with an older Allison 643 (non electronic) and a ****er 5831. I should be finishing that up this week.

Mine is just sitting waiting on winter to get here, won't be long now. I left off with most of the bed made.

I’m not dead yet, just old and slow. I’m re-retiring at the end of September. Then it full steam ahead.
