Yeah it will be cool... What I'm wondering now is, what did the wife think/say? Kinda like asking to get married.... honey, you look soo beautiful tonight...would you drive this packard? I hope she says yes. Is HAMB Friendly and oxy*****?
Just don't commit too early sayin' it's for the wife, you're going to end up likin' it, might want it for yer'self.......
I told her I got it yesterday and she looked at the pictures and asked if she had to go with to get it. The last two runs (southern MN and Rapid City, SD) where interesting to say the least. We went to Rapid City intending to get a pickup cab, spend the night and come back the next day. Couldn't figure out what all of the bikers were doing on the freeway, until I remembered it was Sturgis week. No rooms for two states. Ended up going there and back without a stop over. Me and two women (daughter), 32 hours in a Colorado. At least if was a 4 door. The trip to MN we took the dog. Boy that was dumb.. Probably going to get it running (carb kit, battery and some good used tires), clean it up and see what I have. If the body is too bad, Ill take out the straight 8 and get rid of the rest. I'll post pictures after I get in running shape. If it is sound enough, I'll probably drive it awhile and see if the wife likes it or not. She has here heart set on a Studebaker Hawk, I believe a 1960?. The one with all the chrome on the b-pillar and the grill. She thinks it looks presidential? A friend of mine brought a old Cadillac home and his wife asked why. He said "Peg, its a Cadillac". We still laugh at that one. I should have said, "Honey, its a Packard". I don't think she knows what a Packard is, or was in its day.
$500 is a ****ing steal for that car, I don't care what anyone says. Don't like it, flip it on eBay, it aught to clear $2500 if it will run and move on it's own.
You have to ask if a Packard 2 door is HAMB friendly? It'd be a lot more HAMB friendly if it were in my garage...
Don't wanna toot my horn too loud, but I know a thing or two here. Looks like a 23rd series club sedan(yes I know it only has two doors but its still a sedan). Even if it doesn't rum its worth five bills. Should have a 282ci straight eight flathead. All engine mode will have to be done by you if you decide to go that way with the original motor. BTW, the flintstone flyer didn't run the straight eight. They weigh around 1k lbs ***embled. Packard made some mean v8's though. Put those cad500 blocks to shame. PM me if you do some homework, and decide you want one. I know a guy with two 374's for real cheap. Buy it. Good luck.

We all obtain happiness in our own way. If it suits you then roll with it. I never gained joy with a ride just because others liked it. When we do that we are just cheating ourselves of the true joy...
Why are you wasting time postin **** about it instead of forkin over the 500 bones??? Get it already brother!
