Is This How The "TOP" Button Works?

So you open a thread on the HAMB. You scroll down the page reading all the posts. Then when you get to the bottom of the page, down in the lower right hand corner, there's a red triangular ****on that says TOP. When clicking it I expected it to just quickly take me back to the top of the page I'm on. Instead it take me clear back to the main Forum ***le page.

Or is that the way it's supposed to work?
