Has anyone done business with a place called "Old school cars and parts". They have some parts I need at decent prices, but i have never heard of them before. With so many scammers out there it would be nice to know if they are legit.

Can anyone vouch for "Old School cars and parts" in Geogia ? They have some parts I would like, but I would have to pay them before they will ship. Too many scammers out there to trust anyone

The way to discern scammers from legitimate dealers is pretty easy. If you get to the checkout and it wont accept a credit card, run like heck! Every scam seller out there only takes Zelle, PayPal friends and family, or other means of paying that wont protect the buyer when they discover they've been had.
So simply put a part in their checkout process and see what happens when they ask for payment info. Then if they accept credit cards go back and add whatever else you need, or if not just delete it.
PS-I just went there and tried ordering a grille and it's a scam. Wont accept a credit card. So run away quickly!

Also, who the hell claims to be "the nation's premier classic, consignment dealership of cars and parts"? Bold claim for an outfit with zero internet presence and sketchy payment process as mentioned above^

I don't bother with Facebook parts sellers like that. I'll find some reputable folks on Instagram or on the internet and just stick with them. I might pay a little more per/item, but I'm paying for piece of mind and honest transactions.

I thought the OP was talking about the HAMB, I knew the answer to that o_O, but I am not familiar with that other one though.

Check out the website https://oldschoolspareparts.com/ . I find it a bit odd. First look and pricing was in Euros. Look around and some in dollars. And a strange way to type the address in. Albany Ga 31721 602 Shamrock Drive. Almost like it was entered by a foreigner or in a foreign place. The phone starts with "+1". Blog posts by EnohGarbet. And this seems to be a flag, two "testimonials"

Same testimonial. Father Martin looks like a girl. I wouldn't give them my card number. Anybody from Albany Georgia ?

  8. So is it "old school cars and parts " or old school spare parts " ? I just visited the website mentioned on your photo . Looks like the same adres is given but scammers can do that too. Now have a look at the crimson line at the top of my screenshot. They have allready converted Dollars to Euros for me. That would seem like a legit service that a scammer would,nt bother/think of.

AccurateMike types faster :D, so the Euro thing is only confusing then:confused: .
BTW, shoppingcart item i could pay with a creditcard .

I also look at the English, spelling and grammar.
The testimonial’s above are enough to give it away just on the spelling and grammar.

I had one on Facebook a few weeks back, so I cut and pasted the correct spelling on a ‘32 grille shell, and did a google search.
First result was a grille shell that @HOTRODPRIMER was selling on the HAMB in 2014.
Same photos from back then, same grille shell.

  11. This is not true! I was scammed using my credit card on an online site. I got my money back but it took me months!

  13. The caution tip is 99% true. The point is IF they don't take a credit card, watch out! In your case, your seller DID take your card, but they came up short for whatever reason and you eventually had your money returned. It's a very good tip.

Just googled them. Lots of restoration shops, vintage parts places in Georgia but, nothing with that name. Got a web address or street address and town?

Funny I just clicked on the web link out of curiosity and it said they see I am visiting from the Netherlands so they converted the prices to Euros for me. How nice. I’m nowhere near there and I doubt the server I’m on is routed through there either. Seems a little sketchy to me.

That’s probably the warehouse on the left side of the photo. Lol.

  19. That's not actually a good indicator. If you look up my place(Seattle speed shop) you'll see a house too.

At first I pondered these old folks may be getting scammed too. Check out the emails. I kind of doubt that. Could be Been Verified jerking you off trying to sell you email addresses if you go premium. Or, the whole thing is a scam. It's all fishy.

  22. Ask for a phone number, call them up and IF they answer, tell them that your brother lives in the same town as they say they do, he will pay cash and pick the parts up for you. Listen for the deafening silence.

Make arrangements to pick up in person, pay cash. Watch how complicated it gets. These same tick infested shithole scammers are on IG too. They change the name a lot. Click site info there should be a place the site is based in, not the biz address. Most common IG scab dick scammers are based in Camaroon. This has all the earmarks.

Thanks everyone. I won't be giving out my cc number to these guys. However, I still need a 34 grill. I added myself to the third gen wait list, but who knows what that even means.
