Congrats on getting so far with this deal. Yeah get it home as fast as you can, and stick one hell of a big grin on your dial. Tom
First ,iam glad you bought it! Second I am glad I joined HAMB just to read the different opinions voiced on here..There is a lot of advice good and bad thrown out to someone asking questions on this site. For a new guy into hotrodding foremats like this one are worth reading . Good luck on your build!
Ive been wanting to turn one of those into a 3 window coupe ever since that Geir guy did it to that 36. All in his own garage.
The car went to a retired race team that now collects cool old cars out of Cleavland Ohio. They also own a black 1935 Ford coupe with green wheels in very similar condition and this car is going to be a stable mate to the coupe. The build plans are simple. Keep is as it is and get her running sweet with juice brakes and new glass. I feel like the car went to a good home where it will be appreciated and preserved. The guys who bought it said the car was way better than they thought it would be and even much better than I had described it to them. Here is a picture of it after I cleaned it up a bit.
I'm glad all seemed to turn out well for the car but after going through all of that I'm not so sure I could have let it go.
Have you bought that thing yet? Lowball him for sure, but don't leave without it! It's a solid 35 tudor! This isn't a 35 nash! I think you could buy it, get it running and driving and make 2k on it quick if you didn't want to keep it.. But not around here since we all know what ya paid for it... haha...
Well hell yes thats worth it. I wouldn't pay that to just flip though. Good shape. I bet it will run.
Another FNG bumps up an old post. Just for fun, someday I'm going to bump the oldest post on the board, and see if anyone notices it's from like 1998.
This may be a bit dated, and you may have the car by now (?). I have a nice original 35 3W coupe and it runs very well on the road, so they are definitely desirable cars for current conditions, especially if you plan to do any "improvements". You might consider striking a deal with the owner perhaps allowing him access to the car once a year or something like that to overcome the emotional attachment issue. Good Luck, IslandV8.
