Is this worth Buying??? Ford truck with Olds engine

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, Aug 10, 2009.

  1. If that was in a 100 mi. radius from me right now I'd own it before sun rise for eight hundred bones! It'd be my new camper for sure. Man, I wish my buddy hadn't moved from Spokane.

I thought you might want to buy this? You could start collecting them!

Chris, It's prolly worth the $800-if you had 3 acres and could park this thing out back of the barn and use it as a parts shed.
It's a lot of work for a flywheel and there's no guarantee the flywheel is good. For all you know the Olds engine is toast-maybe that's why it was parked.

Maybe post a HAMB ad right now looking for someone that will split the $800 purchase with you; You pull the drivetrain and they trailer away the rest as a project, shed or to drop a junkyard drivetrain in and flip it.
You'll spend too much of your precious roadster/34 time trying to flip this-you have Hot Rod projects calling you!

Does it have a title? What was it, a dairy truck?

That's probably an old REA-Express delivery truck or maybe even a UPS vehicle.
Whatever, get it, fix it, love it! It would make a great swap meet truck, weekend trip camper and tow vehicle for your Bonneville roadster.
The Olds is a common replacement for the early Ford V8s especially in trucks..

Looks like $800 worth to me, but, I'm safe to say that 'cause its almost 3,000 miles away...Did you end up buying it?
