My 64 Mini Cooper wagon was used in an episode of Unsolved Mysteries about 15 years ago.It was shot in Boston and was supposed to be in Ireland. They wired in a steering column on the right side(said the camera angle wouldn't show the regular wheel)and took the wing off the back.A friend of mine who had an MGY sedan that was right hand drive was also in it.They used him also as a walk on and he got an additional $250 above the $125 they paid us for about 3 hours time. I tried to get a copy of the episode but didn't know the name of it or the director so I was out of luck.It was an interesting day though.
A pig that I built was on "Good Morning America" once. Does that count? It DOES have wheels you know.....
Tingler, you're f'in crazy man. What were they doing? A show on Tennessee yard art? That pig rocks!! JH
My Yellow F1 appears in the background several times during the Vegas portion of Choppers episode of Rides. Hoo Dogies! I's famous!
Oh yeah another time my '63 Consul Capri was in a really bad movie called Sealed With a Kiss. It was supposed to be road to Woodstock. I was even an extra in the movie. I had long hair at the time so they put an itchy poncho on me and made me a dirty Mexican hippie. It was around 1987, I think. It was a horrible experience too, hotter than hell, itchy and I got paid zip for it. Oh shoot, I forgot, the same car was also in a Gatorland TV commercial.
My claim to fame with my 55 chevy........HOOTERS photographed the interior and used the shots to build their web page around. (www.hootersofswo.com/home)

This is a pretty cool post!! Our 51 Pontiac (kustom) was (is) on a tv commercial for an A&W Rootbeer stand. Still plays every summer on about its 8th yr now. It was free, LOL and it was also on the front of a map for Ohio and on a main event video from Goodguys in Indy. And If you ask the idiot dealer who eventualy bought it, he will tell you it was in the movie LaBamba NOT!!! I was a little curious on how you guys find out about these "auditions"? Sixcarb I remember that car from Hot Rod Girl! very cool.
[ QUOTE ] I was a little curious on how you guys find out about these "auditions"? [/ QUOTE ] Debb, There are companies that do nothing but have lists of "props" (cars) that are available for movies and commericals. I was registered with a local company with my '47 Chevy. For example, a film company thats going to be shooting in Detroit would contact a Detroit supplier to outfit the movie with local cars.

Thanks Denise, we had a movie that was filmed here in town, and I know they wanted extras, but wasn't sure how they went about getting cars! Do they make you sign a release? so that if something happens to your vehicle they are not responsible, or do they take car of it if there are any problems? Seems like it might be fun! Debb
I recently got to see the '66 Shelby GT350H driven by James Garner in the movie "Grand Prix" which is currently being restored. -Dean

Debb -- In most instances, rented vehicles are well insured by the production company, and they usually quickly settle claims for damage or replacement with no hassles or haggling.
