Where I live now in Redlands,Ca. No problems. When I lived in Crestline,Ca I had a 55 Chevy PU and a 56 Chevy 210. My neighbors were constantly turning me into code enforcement. Both cars were licensed, insured and running.

Not in my neighborhood with it's by-laws. I do have a street rodder down the street from me, and a muscle car guy in the front of the subdivision, but they have running, driving cars. If you are working on a car that needs paint, body work, drivetrain work forget it. The neighborhood nosey people drive around looking for your car setting out in the driveway for a couple hours, or under a tarp in your drive when your wife says I need the garage for the winter. I got so sick and tired of the President visiting me at least once a week, with some complaint. So, I sold my project. My wife says we are not moving. So if I want a rod, I guess it is going to have to be a running driving car. Subdivision by-laws suck.

Guy across the street has a really nice 62 Chey with stock 409 he bought at an auction for 30 K but I've never seen him drive it. Guy around the corner has five 60's mopar parked all over the property but again, never seen any of them on the road. HAMB'er Just Gary is about 20 minutes away, he's coming over to help this weekend.[emoji41]

I'm the only one in my neighborhood. I get a lot of car related questions and people who want to borrow my tools. They soon find out the answer for the tools! I also get a lot of kids who ask for air for their bike tires but they are really sneaking peeks at my car. It's funny when they bring their bikes for air and there is no flat tire.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I live about 35 miles from you in a subdivision in Oldham County. We've been here 16 years and I don't even know who the president of our homeowners' association is. Hopefully your wife will change her mind and agree to move so you can get back into the hobby. Good luck....

I live in Montana, out in the boondocks. I bought the place from my sister, and she was the third person to put a house out here. There was one guy who moved in down the road who complained about everyone and reported what he called my junk vehicles. The county tried to tell me to get rid of them so I showed them how my property was actually NOT zoned residential and in fact it was not zoned, period. No restrictions, no covenants, nothing. Threats of a lawsuit for harassment shut them up. My next door neighbor sold their land to a business, I now have a sand blasting company next door. Nice folks. They have been one of our best neighbors for years. Last year we sold part of our land to an excavating and transport company, now our neighbor on the other side of us. The neighbor behind us seems to keep to themselves and doesn't seem to care about what others do. The only person I need to keep happy is my wife. Her brother owns all of the vehicles in the first photo which he picked up in a deal and is storing on our property until he can sell them off. The rest are mine, which I've acquired in the past year. My wife is a quilter who has more into her many sewing machines and tubs of fabric than I have into all of my old cars. Happy wife, happy life.
I do believe that this qualifies as a HAMB friendly neighborhood.

  20. Quilters and knitters are the hot rodders of the fabric world. That's for sure. If you think rebuilding a transmission is complex...
